Another quality Ode to kick off the season, Bobby. I printed it up as I ran out of the office yesterday and it helped me get pumped up for the game (not that I needed it). I attended with a fellow Thunderdome Kid. Turns out he was in the $99 seats with me all those years. He's all in.

I stand by what I said. If Florida had beaten Auburn, no one would've given a fuck. It's only a big game if you lose. Well, Florida lost, and Auburn played their ass off. All the credit in the world to them. Their defense was hardass, and Brandon Cox was able to adjust his tampon for maximum comfort, allowing him to throw it into and all around Florida's secondary with great success, at least in the first half. They went into The Swamp, at night, and did enough to win.
Now you move on. LSU is this Saturday. Florida will win the football game. You hear that? I said it. Could the Gators get blown out? Absolutely, but I feel like FLORIDA WILL WIN THE FOOTBALL GAME. So I'm putting it on record here. Right or wrong, I'll have to answer to it.

A quote from our leader, Bobby Fenton: "Who gives a fuck about Auburn this year? As long as you don't lose to them, the answer is nobody."
I guess there's a lot of people that care about Auburn now...War Eagle!!

~Agree on the standing issue. ~Agree on not taking the top newspaper, as you want to make sure you get a paper that hasnt been fiddled with. Same reason I reach back for the 3rd or 4th lotion, deodorant, etc. on the shelf. And the bottom paper is assumed to be dirty, however I will take it if it's the last one. ~Couldnt disagree more heartily on the FIFO dish system. Even that little bit of energy expended to lift the current dishes in the cabinet is an unacceptable inefficiency. Hell, I say just wash the bowl and spoon that you just used and leave them sitting right there on the counter ready for immediate use the next morning. I used to do that in DC when I hand-washed, and I do it now with my cutting board and knife for my morning salad preparation. ~The toothbrush thing? Well now, thats just a little weird, Bobby.

Gameday, that was a great post regarding the Massholes. I was at that Friday game in which our beloved manager made one of his worst decisions ever in removing the starter, Hammel, in the 6th as he's throwing a 1 hit shut out. 2 pitches later, goatee boy Youkilis goes yard...sweet bullpen. I left my behind home plate seats to go sit in one of the offices and watch the rest from there cuz i couldnt take that shit anymore. Needless to say I am on your side when it comes to the FuckSox and even more so with the Yankees. I hate northeasterners. I only have one thing to say, or sing really....Go Cubs Go!

Bobby, I learned the term "masshole" from my cousin Erin when visiting family in West Boylston years ago. That was right after she referred to the town sheriff as a douche bag. The name is either self-proclaimed, or at least well-received, by the Massholes themselves.
Some observations: 1) There were two typical-looking female Bosox fans in the row in front of me: denim skirt, player tee-shirt, 'B' hat. They spent the entire game turned around ogling the baby in the row behind them. I don't think they saw a pitch.
2) There were, however, two very cool men on vaca from Boston sitting in front of us as well. These were your older, hard-core baseball fans. They were complimentary of the Rays. I'll call them "Bostonians", not Massholes. They were, by the way, LOVING the Florida women.
3) I saw a group of 20-something guys buying tickets outside, each shirtless, overweight, and burned to a crisp. Definitely Massholes.
4) The Wally the Green Monster / Raymond video was fantastic. Might have to ask Wilmoth for a copy of that.
5) Most of my relatives are Massholes. Thank god mom moved to Florida before I was born. I claim no ties with that state.

On Tuesday night I tuned in via the net at about 6:30 and two other guys were still blabbering. Is the webcast at the same time as the "Gameday" show, or later?

The evening show for the time being is starting closer to 6:15 than 6:00. Mike and the Mad Dog before me always go another segment past 6:00. Once football season starts, I'm told that I'll be straight up 6-7. Just a public service announcement.
Oh, and I'm right on the NHL Opening Night Countdown. Shouldn't have had to be reminded about that.

I'll be tuned in daily! Is the date for ice fest known? And will the chamber of commerce do its deal this year? Count me in for both. Oh and Bobby... get the countdown to October 4th on the Fentonia site, please.
