Kevin, why don't you go shoot some more footage of our soldiers doing their job and make them look bad again. You should have never shown that video to the world. The soldier would have recieved the same treatment had you just shown it to his chain of command. But you got what you wanted, your famous now. How many more american deaths did you cause by showing that video though. It has to be at least 1 at a minimum. So how does it feel to get a U.S soldier killed by showing the video. I hope you sleep well in Pismo Beach Baech

Hi Sami will I haven't said that I want a specific religous guy to lead my country but what I think is that you never spoke to allawi and that is why you don't know what is happening....he is not what he seems to be if you are a true Iraqi how can you accept some one who is not telling your people the truth...you need some one to be honest with himself first to be honest with others and I think when some one say people come to beg me to get rid of the insurgent while he knows that this is not right what can he be described but as a hypocrite..any way if you think that people will vote for him, I think YES HE WILL but with alot of bribery...and may be a lot of secret hands...not neccessarily Iraqi hands...!!!

This is to Jana, I am Iraqi and hold an Iraqi passport and will be casting my vote for Mr.Allawi

I am not an agent, traitor or whatever you want to call me. I am a realist, it is in my interst for my country to be allied with the world's most powerful countries, not the world's most backward. Mr. Allawi leaves religon behind and doesn't use ethnicity as other Iraqi political leaders sadly do.... maybe one day people will start caring about what we want rather than assuming.... you will all be surpirsed in election time, but u will say for sure that the elections were fixed when the people show their support for mr.allawi.

Mike... when talking to some of the officers in the military... thier concern is precisely this: there is no exit strategy.... not about winning.... rather... what seemed to have been an operation that should last 2-5 years looks like we will not be able to begin really pulling troops for 7-10 years or longer..... stability of the new governement they don;t believe will be strong enough to exist without our support for years upon years of occupation.... My fiance is heading over there... you bet I hope there is an exit strategy.. his deployment began with orders of 9 months... then extended to at least 12 months... he knows he will be over there for no less than 14 and is expecting 2 years..... so... ....

Forgot to mention...Scared, exit strategies are for losers. Going into a fight with an exit strategy means you expect to lose. You exit by winning, and then walking away. We will have won once the Iraqis are capable of establishing a firm government without fear of overthrow.

Good take. I was glad to see you ask the right questions. Everything I see tells me things are getting much better for the Iraqis, and you are certainly passing along good information.

Andrew... What is wrong with you!!! Get a grip and get a life. Kevin... keep up the great work! Thank you for going in and asking the questions. What I am most interested in is this: what do you think? You have been all over that country .... and through Afghanistan.... what are your thoughts on how this war is really going? I am hearing from US military that they don;t believe it is going well and that there is no exit strategy in sight.... also that things are only getting worse... COmments???

Wow, some real optimistic posts here.

I think you did a pretty good job asking tough questions.

From the looks of things, Iraq is improving compared to the complete chaos of 1 year ago. Its a slow process, but if we stick with it, they can pull this off.

There will always be radicals, we even have them in the U.S., but the majority want peace and security and they will achieve it with our help.

"I was yesterday with the Fallujah people. They came here to see me yesterday. And they were begging me to help them form the insurgents."

Help them FORM the insurgents? ..or insurgence?

wellmay be I shouldn't comment on this article, you know how I feel about that but just to let you know what I feel. I think that its so rediculous to have such a hypocrite to lead a country and to behave like his country is getting better while its not any time soon. you know you should have asked him before you finished one more question which is ...do you think that any of your people would ever think of you as a good person, or may be you say it this way do you think any one out there likes you as being his prime minister...I'm sure the true answer will be .......NONE!!!!!

Wow, what a profound political statement. Kevin's hair is too long and his clothes are wrong. Unbelievable. As for the interview, seems political rhetoric is pretty similar no matter where you are...the spin just changes.

OK Kevin, let's see...you should have talked to Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani,not this guy...you should not have included the line "like him or not" and you need to cut your hair and wear different clothes. Looks like another great posting and a job well done...stirring up discussion and debate. Keep up the great work.

I think it's disappointing that Kevin Sites can't get a decent haircut and wear smarter clothes. Shrill American bigots will probably scoff, but Middle Eastern societies are built on social niceties. Allawi might not be smart, but he made an effort. Sites, with his Shaggy haircut and polo shirt, is playing to the American audience, and it doesn't go down well in the Arab media - it just panders to their stereotypes of the cool and insular America that doesn't care for 'foreign'.
