P.S. K8, I just got into my e-mail now after being unable to get online since last night, and there are 2 more of the same e-mails from kkkkeighty@hotmail.com. The subject line says "good game, I've played for a moment for free. =".

Hi Kate and Karin,

This email virus seems to have been around for a long time.

Googling "good game, I've played for a moment for free" brought up the following website:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080602092743AAtR8qA

The short of it is that at some point the hotmail userid and password were captured and sent to an external computer. It is this computer that is logging into the account and sending the emails. The best thing to do is to log into the hotmail account from a non-infected computer and change the hotmail account password.

This should stop the emails.

Good luck,

Scott

Hey Arch, can you please email me at the contact address you have on file? I got a 1-1 result and I tried to thunk it but Unthunk disagrees and I've been suspended! :( Thanks.

Hmm, I just tried stacking it at GW and oddly enough it said 0 results for each word for a total of 1 result, and it was accepted. Perhaps it's a weird variation of the google dance.

Hi Karin,

I just cleared all warning and bans, let me know if you have any more problems. Must have been the Google Dance afoot!
Happy holidays!!

Just a note to all who've been familiar with my Mollie whacks & thunks over the years - our beloved pup passed away yesterday morning. She had been through some illnesses recently and Sunday morning it was obvious she had worsened quite a bit so we made the decision to end her suffering. She gave us an incredible amount of joy and was a vital part of our family, so we're really down right now. Her little "brother" Rainer was extremely attached to her so he's depressed too. Mark and I are trying to make sure we give him lots to do to keep his mind active and help him bounce back. Fortunately for dogs, they're able to get through this more quickly than humans can. :(

...sooo sorry to hear of your loss, Karin. I lost my Peaches in September of 2006 and still haven't recovered. Pet love is truly unconditional. Blessings to you, Mark and Rainer; I pray that God would cover your hearts with His protective Love as you walk through this deep loss. :`|

Dear Karin

It is so hard to make that decision. Our pets rely on us to provide food and water and grooming and medical care, and in return they give us great joy and boundless devotion. I've lost friends and family all of whom could tell their doctor, "No more; let me go." Sadly, we have to make the decision for our pets. Perhaps the saddest day of my life was the day my kitty couldn't stand up one morning. Her kidneys were failing and she was so thin. and she was 19 yrs old. I took her to the vet to end her suffering, and she died in my lap as I stroked and loved my SillyCat for the last time. (Tears are falling now even after five years of missing the cat.) Karin, you had to make a painful decision, but it was the right decision. It was the most loving, courageous act that you could do for Mollie.

My thoughts are with you

Will H

Will and Kate,

Thank you so much for your kind words, understanding and support, and for sharing the stories of your beloved pets. Even though all of us know we made the right decisions for our pets, it's still so difficult. I was saying to Mark today that for every day of Mollie's almost 10 years of life, she made me feel happy, and losing that precious gift isn't something you can lightly dismiss.

I'm very grateful to you both for your warm thoughts, and I wish the best to you both. :)

My condolences Karin. I know it must have been a difficult decision. We had to put both our cats down a few years ago and though it was a hard to do we know that it ended their suffering. Our oldest cat, who was about 17, had diabetes and could barely walk or eat. Our other cat was only 5 or 6 but had developed a serious neurosis that treatment didn't care of and she impulsively scratched off the side of her face, literally. My sister-in-law and mother also lost their pets (dog and cat respectively) last month. Both were in old age and failing health. I am so sorry you lost Mollie. Even though she is gone, she will always have a special place in your heart and you will always have happy memories of her. Best wishes!
Lucas

Karin, so sorry to hear of your loss. I know you're hurting now. Focus on the love that Mollie had from you while she lived. You gave her a good home and she experienced love and care.

Francine & Lucas,

Thank you for your kind thoughts. It's so helpful to know that other people understand the love that I had for my dog and realize how painful losing her was. Mollie had enough personality for two dogs and her funny, silly, loving, naughty antics are treasures that we'll never forget.

Thanks again for the support, and my best to you both. Karin :)
