When development was halted on a piece of software called QNE the world lost a lovely, elegantly simple content management system for flat file web site creation.
The inner workings of the program are beyond me. All I know is that the friend who started out on this project had to abandon it because of insuperable problems with the Python scripting environment, which, three years ago at least, was a horrid heap of inter-locking utilities, some of which had actually been tested to work with one or two other utilities...
What I also know is that the author used
XMLSpy to create the XML pages which produce NewsWireless every day. It's a real professional's tool, and I've just downloaded an evaluation version of the suite.
I wonder if I
dare try to play with it?
