Guy, like you I was incensed by the constant popping up of the use the British version of Yahoo etc

The answer to the problem is very simple, go in to your Yahoo Folder on your hard drive (should be in Programs). In the Folder for Messenger look for the file marked Updater.exe and rename it - Mine now resides under the name of NotUpdater.exe!

This will stop the pop up each time you log on with Yahoo.
