Hitting it with a hammer, eh? OK, you're feeling better! Glad you got a chance to be with the bambina. It's exhausting I know, but sort of boosts you too, I find. Dying to see the pics.
I think I've successfully fought off something. Lord, what a night I had. But now I'm feeling a lot better.
Today is about 80 degrees outside. It's an incredible day in LA, but really weird to be looking at autumnal wreaths and thinking about going to the pool at the same time!

Hi Guys, Thanks everyone for asking - I'm feeling much better and yes I did Sydney sit. She's almost 10 months old and is quite a little bundle of energy. I wish I could bottle it. Saturday just before we left to come home we took a trip to a local farmstand I have pictures of her and the pumpkins. Some were bigger than she is. I'll post a couple a bit later. Right now I am fighting my photo printer. The paper feed for 4x6 prints isn't working right and I am about ready to hit it with a hammer.

That's right...Wheels, did you get to feeling well enough to Sydney-sit? I hope so. I went to a bazaar today and everything I bought was edible. I've been munching like there is no tomorrow. Good Lord, I bet I have some wild dreams tonight.

I was exhausted today and achy. Manny didn't even get up to go out this morning when I got up. LOL He's okay today. The the pad above the paw (guess you could call it his thumb) is the most sensitive spot and he won't let me clean it. He growls, snarls and tries to snap. So far it's gotten just the cursory touch of the antiseptic. I'm hoping by tomorrow he'll let me touch it a little more to clean it a little better. He's not afraid of the spot of the "incident" at all. He went to check out the scene of the crime LOL I'm walking him for now. Last thing we need is another cat fight. My poor baby.
Definitely lighter in the wallet--the bill was $156! Had to pay part of it last night (only had $70 in my wallet) and went back this afternoon to pay the balance.
For those on facebook, I added some new pictures of him :D

Oh, Karen! That sounds awful. I hope you're fast asleep by now and that you all get some rest, as Lindy says. What a harrowing experience.

Oh Karen...what a night! Poor Manny! I wonder if he will be nervous about going back out or if he will be chomping at the bit to get out there to find that cat. I'll bet your wallet is lighter too. Well, I hope all of you get a good night's sleep.

spent 2 hours at the vet tonight. manny decided to get in a fight with one of the stray cats from the neighborhood. he was out in the yard and the cat came in--probably in the same area where he was--and he went after it. needed my father's help to get him in the house. i couldn't hold him! once we got him in, i saw he had blood all around his right eye. i had some antiseptic left from a previous vet visit, so i cleaned the area. then i see a puncture on his leg--fangs got him. called the vet and brought him. found some more spots where he had wounds--looks like he scraped the pad that's above the paw and his elbow when he was going after the cat. the pad and the bite are pretty much on opposite sides of each other and they are what hurt him. he got a rabies booster shot, antibiotics and more antiseptic. i'm pooped! he's okay, but he's pooped too. have to keep an eye on the bite mark especially to make sure it doesn't swell up. he should be okay though. it looks like the fangs punctured, but didn't really go deep because there wasn't any blood, just an open wound. an exciting night for sure. ;)

Wheels, I hope that you are improving. I would give my right arm for 10 vials of the seasonal flu vaccine. Ughh. It has rained for over 24 hours here. If it were snow, we would be snowed in. I think I saw that Minnesota has snow...is that right Maiden? Welcome to the midwest...ughh again.

Glad to hear at least part of you is feeling better :) Make sure you at least drink plenty of fluids and eat what you can. Your body needs the fuel so it can get energy. Get that protein in.

Lindy, I'm OK. I sat down last night to answer you but as I was typing I got so tired that I just gave up and went to sleep. I'm sorry I keep drifting off whether I want to or not. My temp has been normal since yesterday afternoon but I have the staminia of a newborn. Food is still a problem. A half hour or so after I eat0 I am rushing to get into the bathroom. Best incentive I have ever seen to avoid between meal snacks. I'm going to speak to my Doctor tomorrow anyway so I intend to talk to him about it. If he says its OK we are supposed to go to ATL mid week. Brian & Nicole have to fly to Ohio and we are supposed to "Sydney-sit". CDC says you aren't contagious once your fever is normal for 24 hours without tylenol and I've passed that but I don't want to take any risks so I'll reconfirm that with the Dr too. Darrell will have to take the lead on the baby part of baby sitting but I hope the Dr says its OK for me to go.
