Happy Thanksgiving from me too. I am full to the gills. I ate so much. Wild horses could not drag me to the mall for the midnight specials. I plan to curl up with a book.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. We're off to Brian's....over the river and thru the woods and up the mountain and past the lake and down the lo-o-ong boring highway.

Yep and let me tell you, it was difficult to unpuke it. Dogs are much worse then kids. At least with a kid you can set them up with a trash can and get them to use it if they can't make it to the bathroom but with dogs you might just as well save your breath.

Why is it that even if you have only piece of carpet in the entire house thats the spot that dogs and kids head for when they have an upset stomach? We pulled almost all of the carpet out a couple of years ago because of my wheelchair but there is still a low pile type in the back hall and Bud must have thrown up on it about four or five times today. He's fine now but something didn't agree with him. Now maybe I can convince Darrell to put removing it on his to-do list. He keeps putting it off because the floor under it is in poor shape and will probably need to be replaced. It's strong enough but its really ugly and beat up.

It's been rather chilly lately. Temps been in the 40's and at night its been in the 30's. It's hunting season right now. I woke up at 5:30 this morning to hear what sounds like cannons going off nearby. When going outside even to check mail, I have to make certain I wear orange or else I may be mistaken for a deer. Can't let the dogs run around the yard either cause the neighbor idiots would shoot them thinking they were deer.

If the sacred bing cherry salad is not a family secret...I would love the recipe. Scarlet, I was on a public health list serv and someone from Columbus posted that she needed 1000 flu shot doses. Then someone came on and said she didn't have vaccine, but had 150 fluMIST doses which the Columbus nurse snapped up. I thought of you. We had an uncannily mild day today. I just wore a denim blouse and no jacket. I can't believe the weather. How is it up there where you are Maiden?

Perhaps, if you turned up your refrigerator to Medium, you could put the salad in there. But putting in the freezer, especially if there are fresh cherries in it, might overdue it.

Thanks for the advice, but since this is the sacred BING CHERRY SALAD I don't think I am going to risk it. Maybe those harpies at the MA school will let us out early on Wednesday so I can have time to make it.

i'm not sure if freezing the jello will change it's consistency when it is defrosted. the cool whip will be fine, like maiden said. in fact, when we have it in the house (not often at all), i keep it in the freezer. it defrosts nicely. why not make a small amount and give it a test run?

I've never tried freezing a jello salad. But cool whip can stay in the freezer. If its mixed with jello though, you'd probably want to keep it in the fridge. I'll check out the new Chad.
