Erin, it would be great if you could stop on your way so that none of us has to run out. Do you mind?? Or if it is too much I will run out when we get hungry. Either way is fine.

Should I stop @ the Golden Pear then? I can get Cobb Salads for us and a wrap with salad for Rachel. What would be your second choice if there are no Cobbs? And Rachel, your order? Or do you want me to stop elsewhere?

From Sarah, Erin & Rachel:
Sarah/Erin are going to work on the Related Sites page as discussed in message /m264
Rachel will work on the Kids Activities section.
Kathy is invited (if she would like) to collect Scavenger Hunt links for the Related Sites page (scavenger hunt gets its own section there) and/or create a Kids Activities Scavenger Hunt Page to explain/demonstrate the procedure/value of this travel learning method.
We are all to look at our page for copyright issues and decide what needs to be done (Erin emailed Addi to ask about the pictures on the timeline)
We are all to visit the accessibility page recommended by Faye as mentioned in earlier posting /m273 and pasted below:
For those who want to check "A quick and dirty introduction to accessibility", here's the link - http://www.maxdesign.com.au/presentation/accessibility/index.htm
I was looking it over and there is a handy list of quick ways to improve accessibility at http://www.maxdesign.com.au/presentation/accessibility/07.htm and it links to another checklist that I understood very little of, but the quick one was good.
I will email Faye/Donna and cc to all of us, asking them to review our site and give us a list of accessibility issues to consider.
We can put our heads together on all of this in class Wednesday. We should try to meet Monday, 5/23.

Just got this in an email:
Rachel,
One thing I noticed right off the bat is that you have not used the ALT tag in the properties box on any graphic. Each graphic should have a description in the Alt tag box. This becomes visible when you hover over the graphic.
Donna

and this one from Faye:
Give me a couple of days...grading due to the last day at Suffolk!
Since my time is tied up with end-of-semester stuff at Suffolk, start
here http://webxact.watchfire.com/ for finding out how accessible your
site is.

Here is the letter I sent out to get permission to use sites.

Dear XXXX,

I am interested in linking to your web page from an educational based website that I am creating for a Masters course through CW Post. This is a graduate program called Team. I would like to know if I could use your logo on that page in order to provide a visual for accessing this page. In no way is this a commercial site and I only intend this site to be used for educational purposes.

Sincerely,

Kathy Piacentine

Kathy - Thank you so much for posting the content of your permission requests!
Now, if Erin or Sarah could please send similar emails to anyone we need to get permission from. There are images on our very first page that need permission. Kathy probably knows what sites they came from if it isn't evident from the links themselves.
Kathy - thank you also for putting the alt tags on the images on our site.
I updated our ASSESSMENT section and fixed the mis-linked quicktopic there. So we should be all set if we each invite someone to visit, review and comment on our site.
I am planning to do some work on the "Kids Activities" section and welcome any input.

I am so sorry that I have not been communicating on the quick topic this week. I have been so busy planning the trip to the city today, and the 8th grade graduation on Sat. (it is like a mini wedding with readings, music, flowers, awards, etc) I will have a couple of people look at our site in the next few days and have them leave their comments on the site quick topic. Also, I will send those emails for permission to use the pictures on the site. Erin, I will be in touch to see what you have done so that I don't repeat. I hope you are all well. I am sorry that I will be missing class tonight. See you soon.
