I totally disagree with Dr. James Kriseman's presentation at the meeting. First of all, he is not a pulmunologist, nor a geologist. 22% silica/quartz as what he stated is 22% of the sample. If 3% of that quartz get into the lungs, especially for the little children, and additional 2% get into the lungs in another month, multiply that by 20 to 30 years of the child's life. What do you think the lungs would look like!Think of the cumulative effect of exposure. As for asthma, anything can trigger the irritation.

Dr. Kriseman, I think you need to go back to school and read some more. Expose yourself to dust and quarry environment and do some testing yourself. I had a bag of quarry materials with me during the meeting at the BOCC and I was going to give it to you and take a sniff test. You're lucky somebody stopped me! This is not about money, but you need to think about the welfare of the people, as what the Hippocratic Oath you pledge for when you graduated from school! Somebody said, may be it is hippocritical oath you have pledge to!
