A little interesting comment I heard from Joe English, (yes, really) Intel's 'worldwide WiMAX coordinator' (or something like that) in a panel session. Regarding Nokia jumping the WiMAX Forum ship and then promptly jumping back on board - apparently it wasn't really Nokia who jumped ship in the first place, but a recently acquired subsidiary of theirs called Rooftop Communications, who merely let their membership lapse.
Stop press - I just popped 'Rooftop Communications' into google and came up with a Nokia release from September 1999 (
http://press.nokia.com/PR/199909/776032_5.html). I guess that brings a whole new meaning to 'recently acquired'. You'd think Nokia would've got their house in order during the intervening 5 years...
