OK, don't flame me about the layout. The Boss says there are ways of using our CMS to generate usable picture layouts, but he wasn't able to explain it to your humble Mouse.

And it's just my gossipy view of Enterprise Wireless Technology at Olympia.

Go tomorrow, tell me if you find anything worth finding...

Wotz KPMG doing there? Shame on you Guy. How soon you forget. It seems like only yesterday that Microsoft made a large firm of consulting accountants an offer they couldn't refuse - adopt Internet Explorer (which back then wasn't very good) over Netscape... and get very substantial discounts on MS Office. Too many suits sign cheques without understanding what they're buying, so they stick to "compatibility" (or "I'll have whatever everyone else is having"...) Getting a major corporate player on your team helps it look like your product is "what everyone else is having". It worked before... it might work again. And I thought you were one of the small band of us who still remembered the days when Microsoft Access was a (not very good) DOS Comms package....

A little interesting comment I heard from Joe English, (yes, really) Intel's 'worldwide WiMAX coordinator' (or something like that) in a panel session. Regarding Nokia jumping the WiMAX Forum ship and then promptly jumping back on board - apparently it wasn't really Nokia who jumped ship in the first place, but a recently acquired subsidiary of theirs called Rooftop Communications, who merely let their membership lapse.

Stop press - I just popped 'Rooftop Communications' into google and came up with a Nokia release from September 1999 (http://press.nokia.com/PR/199909/776032_5.html). I guess that brings a whole new meaning to 'recently acquired'. You'd think Nokia would've got their house in order during the intervening 5 years...

Oh ho ho! Thanks very much for that - I'll pull it out into the main site!

:-)

Ron: KPMG and its relationship with Microsoft apart, why were they touting for business at EWT? That's what my colleague the Sniffer was really asking, I suspect.

Very Good

Actually, 6MB of email on a BlackBerry isn't all that bad at all. You don't get attachments unless you ask for them, and when you do get them, they're not in native format so the volume of bandwidth they consume is a shadow of its former self. Then there's data compression, etc, etc.

... and I don't work for Voda or RIM!
