Just a scheduling note:

Tonight's C division game between Gaebel's Steeltippers vs. The Dist-Serb-ed Sisters has been rescheduled. The Sisters only have 1 healthy player available tonight. I have tried to contact the Steeltippers to advise but without much luck.

If anyone sees/talks to anyone from that team, can they please help out by advising them? Thanks.

I hope no one takes offence to "worst " venue idea. I was thinking of things like boards , lighting, space to play in and courteous staff.

Time to start boycotting the western pizza Broadway venue.That place sucks!!
It is hot as hell,stuck back in a hole by the toilets, there is no place to sit,we had to eat standing up.people walking through the game to get to the larger VLTs room.Any other venues available,I really hate going there.

While im here.
only playing 3 different teams , 3-4 times per 1/2 season is getting boring,any chance we can put the B & C
teams together,to increase the social circle,and change up the venues.?

Paul: We do the best we can with what we have to work with. I do agree that BWP isn't the best venue to play out of by far, but for now, it's all we have. As I mentioned before, I am working on getting the Shark Tank pool hall as a venue for the next session.

As far as the stats are concerned, I'm just trying to track down one last score sheet in order to do the stats. Stay tuned.

Darcy, I agree with Paul as far as combining the B and C divisions. Playing the same three teams all year long would really blow goats!

A few things going into tonight:

1 - Effective immediately, the Eagles Predators A division team has officially folded. If you were scheduled to play them at some point for the remainder of the session, you will receive a bye for that week.

2 - Due to the excessive absenteeism from players due to the rampant amount of colds and flu going around, we are working on trying to come up with some way of reducing the spare fee. We're looking at trying an 'installment' payment plan sort of thing where new spares pay $5/night instead of $20/year. Once they've spared for their 5th time they no longer have to pay anything. So if you need to use a spare, feel free to grab whoever, but make sure we still get all their info and collect $5 from them. They still have the option of paying $20 all at once instead of $25 total.

3 - In addition to above, we're going to try and get the remaining Eagles players listed as spares.

4 - I didn't get the missing sheet from last week until today, so that's why the stats weren't done. Again, illnesses are taking a toll on everyone.

5 - I want to take this time to acknowledge all of your efforts in ensuring that not more games than have been are being rescheduled. I know that it's difficult to field a team sometimes with all the illnesses.

6 - As far as combining the B & C divisions because you're all tired of looking at each other already:

a) I warned you all that this could happen, but it was the fairest way of doing the schedule as some teams would have to play others twice and others only once

b) To help break the monotony, that is why we are going to move teams up and down divisions between sessions as we discussed at the AGM

c) Now that the Eagles team has dropped out, I will have to go with 2 divisions in the 2nd session anyway. The A division will still have 6 teams, while the B division will end up with 7 teams and will have a bye week team each week. And because there's 7 teams and 10 weeks of play, some teams will have 2 byes in a session while others only have one. These are some of the reasons why we decided to go with the 3 divisions of fewer teams.

I will put all this stuff up for a vote on the web poll when I get the new stats done up.

1 - That's awesome Jeff! I sent you an email with hopefully some helpful info for you. I shall await your reply.

2 - The site is now updated with both Week 5 & 6 stats. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

3 - Until I hear back from Jeff, if you are supposed to play the Eagles dart team, you will have a bye that week. I will refrain from taking them off of the schedule completely until I have heard from Jeff as to if he can field a replacement team or not. If he can, we will do the best we can to get all the rescheduled games played as well.

4 - On the Players Of The Week section, does that graphic logo come up fine for everyone in the top left corner? It does on mine on the spreadsheet, but then it doesn't when I update the site. I also cleaned that section up a bit.

5 - I also did a little bit of updating to some stuff on our site including changing a phone number of one of the team captains. For now I have left the Eagles on there.

6 - In regards to the spare list, teams are starting to get sloppy and it's not acceptable. Using first names only for a spare is not acceptable. I can usually figure out who the person is, but not only should I not have to, but in case of an error, it's a huge pain to go back and fix things. I did not update the spare list as there are several spares who have played and I either do not have their contact info or any knowledge of if they've paid or not. Also, I don't even have their last names! Like I mean really?
Hopefully this will not continue.

7 - I was going to mention something about this last week and forgot and I see that a lot of teams are already doing it which is good to see. In light of the H1N1 virus and the multitude of colds going around, I am suggesting that instead of a handshake at the beginning and end of games/nights, that you pound fists or just wave or say good luck instead! No sense tempting fate. It's just a suggestion.

Just FYI:

1 - It doesn't look like I will be updating the site this morning. I am still missing 1/2 the sheets for this week! Still missing are:

A - You Tick Me Off vs. The Mandus
C - Gaebel's Steeltippers vs. Trouble Makers
C - Mean Green vs. The Dist-Serb-ed Sisters

Once I have all the sheets, I'll do the updating when I have time.

2 - I have not heard from Jeff yet as to if he's able to field a replacement team for the A division.

3 - It's getting to be that time to start thinking about getting door prizes for the Santa's Anonymous tournament. Pretty much anything goes. Ask at your work asap. Thanks.

Wow. Wednesday night, and I already have ALL the sheets from this week! Even the missing stats from a B game a couple of weeks ago! Good job guys!

There is a make up game happening tonight in C division. Hopefully I can get that sheet in as quickly as the others and then I can update the entire site asap with week 7 & 8 stats as well as a couple of missing things from past weeks.

Also, I would definitely be interested in running a singles league if there was enough interest to warrant it. I think it'd be a great idea to come to reality.

The site is fully updated with all the missing info from past weeks! Thanks to all of you who got your score sheets in so quickly this week!

We still need to decide if we're going with 3 divisions or not for next session. If the Eagles team can be replaced, we'll stick with the 3 divisions and bump 2 teams up/down from B/C, and 1 up/down from A/B.

If the Eagles team cannot be replaced (as it looks like right now) a decision has to be made as to whether to stick with 3 divisions and have the A Division with the odd number of teams and thus will have byes. If we go that route, all A teams will recieve 2 byes. If we go with 2 divisions, A division will not have any byes, but the B division teams will all recieve 1 bye, but 3 teams will get 2 byes.

It's a more uniformed league if we stick with 5 teams in A each receiving 2 byes, but the B & C divisions would be playing the same 3 teams over and over again as was the case with the 1st session. However, they'd be different teams than the 1st session. Also, as per the poll last week, most people want to stick with the 3 divisions and have just the A division have the bye.

I would love to hear what anyone has to say!

I did update the spare list as well. Please ensure that if you are a spare and have NOT paid, please pay at your next available match. If you have a spare playing for your team, PLEASE ADVISE SOMEONE ON THE EXECUTIVE THAT YOU HAVE THE SPARE FEE COLLECTED! We are presently unsure as to the fee status of some of the spares because no one is letting us know.

Also, please remember that you are allowed to use any A division player as a spare if they are on a bye, but ONLY for B division!

Please don't forget about the SA tourney coming up on Dec. 15.

I'm quite surprised that you can't make up a team from the spare list for the A div. There are lots of good players there. If they can't make it all the time put 5 or 6 players on the team.

That's a good idea Greg and believe me, I'm doing my best to try and make it happen. However, if I were to deplete the spare list by putting 5-6 guys on that team that would really put the rest of the league in a bind as spares have been very hard to come by this year.

So, you have to take a look at the big picture and pick the less of the two evils. As it would sit now, I'd be taking 3 names off that list and would only be leaving the league with 3 1/2 viable spares for the rest of the season. Normally, we'd be able to work with that, but with all the colds and flus going around, 3-4 spares won't cut it. I've already had more rescheduled matches this session than in the past couple of years combined and have had one team play a league game with only 2 players.

So, I'd rather not put the league in a position like that where we're short on spares just to construct a team to fill a vacancy. Last year I was able to draw from the soft tip league at times (the birth of Doctor's Office & Above the Norm), but that's not an option this season. Not enough guys are willing to commit to 10-12 Tuesdays right now. But I am still working on it!
