I entered HBS in 1968. During my first year, graduate student deferments were eliminated. HBS extended its first year that year as an option for those who wanted to complete their second year without a summer break. The summer break threw you into the draft pool. They also offered anyone who chose to join the military the option of returning within five years to complete their second year. I returned to graduate in the class of 1973. Not having a formal section they put us into Section K.

Would be glad to ante up $100 or whatever you think is appropriate if you will give me an address and will accept a good old paper check. I hope what you are doing has a profound, positive and lasting effect. I recall hiding my service (submarines not Viet Nam) while at the West Point of Capitalism - Today, I get complaints from clients calling and getting Rush Limbaugh if they are placed on hold. I like that -

I was reading over your site and noticed an error regarding my Vietnam service. My service in during my tour was for 700 combat missions (35 air medals) not 70 as stated in my profile. You may want to correct it. Thank you. David Taylor
