A few people have compared how the "best selling" character assassination by the Swift Boat Liars was treated by the media, as compared to "Fortunate Son", the unauthorized account of GW's debauchery before he 'sobered up and found God' as a prelude to running for office.
I would be interested to learn how much the story of GW in Kitty Kelly's book parallels that of Fortunate Son, and also how the media will treat dubious allegations about Bush given their arms-wide-open acceptance of the most venal and mendacious slanders about Kerry.
I am also interested to learn, assuming polls continue to corroborate this astonishing bounce, whether the media will comment on how the Repubican Party's tactics of scorched earth negative campaigning seems to be working, despite the public's supposed distaste for negative ads.
