Wrap them woollies :)

We're having a little teeny break, just cold enough to keep the snow healthy.

I need to get a good winter gallery up, I have some pretties accumulating. Too many other things to do. Big event coming in Feb. and a couple more websites.

Where do CDs go when you need them? Do they get eaten by the Lost Socks?

It's chilly here still (for our standards) probably the coldest winter we've had for a few years - which isn't a bad thing, perhaps we'll have less pests in the garden later in the year (ie things that eat our veggies!).

*Snerkle* There hasn't been any fresh snow for a while (Doni be thanked) but it's still cold enough.

There wasn't any ice on the insides of the kitchen windows this morning, though :D

Brr chilly. I just showed my daughter your pic to show her 'real' snow lol. The kids have never seen more than a few inches on the ground.

I haven't got long left at work before I get a year off :D. I finish mid April (easter week)and I'm looking forward to getting time to write again. Things are pretty hectic trying to work, home teach and do all the housey chores.

Snow here is forever. I can still see the tops of large vehicles over the snowbank between me and the street. There is a small access hole in the bank with a couple of hard-packed steps on each side. I call that my "eskimo steps". Snow and ice really are good building materials. I can climb over pretty well with bags of groceries when I get a ride to the store, and the mailman doesn't seem to mind.

It was below zero (F) for a lot of last week. Schools closed because of the cold.

I'm managing to shovel what I have to, but I wish the snow would take a few more days off. It's been burying us every week.

My nice computer adventure is over at least. I have most of the good tools installed again, just in time to catch a newsletter deadline and make posters for a fundraiser concert. Also got a new video card very cheap from a starving vagrant (guy I've known quite some time, prob needed the $ for cigs lol). Had to wait until the weather warmed up 20-30 degrees so the static electricity would not be so dangerous (to the computer) before installing it! Now I have to dig up that cool fireworks screensaver ;-)

My sinuses are not happy...not much pain otherwise. Just tired. Furnace functions *grin*

How are you feeling now?

It's rather chilly in the UK at the moment (by our usual winter standards). Our snow actually stayed for 3 days! That hasn't happened for years lol. Kind of nice to have a proper cold snap. The last couple of years I've only needed a light jacket and jumper mid-winter but the last few days it's been real gloves and woolly coat weather. There was a heavy frost last night and it stayed all day instead of vanishing by 10am. Very pretty on the trees.

Deck the halls with bowels of folly...

Lovely Christmas Eve, I discovered the good side of fever -- low fuel consumption! I had the toasty-woasties, complete with constantly cycling annoying dreams and a feeling, on those rare moments when I left my blanket-heap, that my legs were going to abandon me somewhere. The probable cause, Volunteer Food Service Flu (a.k.a. food poisoning, more commonly -- and erroneously -- blamed on Something That's Going Around). Oh well. I had my legs well under me most of Christmas Day. Not up to a big feast, I compensated with a bowl of strawberries and cream. Good enough.

fscking spammer pigs have been swarming over the Pirung forum. I shut down registration again so I don't have to delete a daily dozen or so. I'm hoping that it will cool down. Yeah, and mammoths fly. They aren't going after FFTS hardly at all. Only had one so far. Xfingers.

Sigh. Going to have to crank up Metadot again. I really need to find a way to integrate it with my other webbery. It is such a big PITA. But my ISP guys like me enough to give me a brand new login just for the webwork, so I feel chuffed enough. I'd rather develop a new skin at home than f around online.

Mostly I'm trying to stay out of a lot of forums so I won't get bogged down trying to help people who won't describe their problems helpfully. I'm a bit sick of fools. I find the answers to my own questions with a bit of searching and trying things out, and move on.

Operation Web-sync, the solution to NAMI of Door County's mailing list woes, is well under way. At any rate, I have the software we need and have figured out how to make it work without tickling Draknet's hair-trigger security -- LOL. In other words, when configuring SyncBack (free version), do not let it test the FTP connection! The directory shall be / and that be that.

Meanwhile I also stick my neck out to help some ESL case in the SMF forum, and he PMs me and I go at it all drum-chant-and-facepaint, screenshots and all. Oy. I have a problem--everybody's. On the other hand, I've made some nice friends that way ;-)

Oh well, it was worth it. The new theme looks better than the original, and now I know it will be easy to convert my own -- LLLOOOLLLz

*sigh* I drop into a forum out of habit and hang around for hours fixing it. Incorrigible.
