Wow - I havent been to JC since Graduation in 78! Drove through a few weeks ago and stopped at the Sonic - Man did I do a lot of cruising in my Mustang through there. Anybody out there that graduated in 1988?

My maiden name was Livingston and I was married to Jerry Parrick, We are the parents of Candi and Gary Parrick-- Gary passed away on January 28th 2007 from a diabetic coma that caused severe brain damage and a seizure which took his life. Gary worked as a truck driver until the disease prevented him from doing so.He attended Washington grade school, ST.Xaviers and JCHS.

I am trying to locate George PAT McBride who was married to Martha Seitz Nielsen. He had a photo restoration business and lived in Vesuvius Virginia. I need very much to get in touch with him. I have sent emails to the address he gave me and no reply. I have called his home and the phone rings, but no one ever answers. I am concerned he may be dead. I sent some one of a kind family photos to him for restoration and need to get them back. I sent them to him in February 06 and talked to him in May, but no reply from him since then. You guys should really use classreport.com instead of classmates. Its completly free!! For everyone! We had our reunion this past summer (96), and I think classreport helped alot.

Does anyone know where Cecil Hurford is? Class of '82

To any JCHS alumni in the VA/DC/MD area. I don't know if any of you listen to 93.9 (WKYS FM) but one of our own is a popular deejay in the DC area. EZ Street, aka Phil Canty class of 83) is on 2 to 6pm Monday thru Saturday and loves to hear from JCHS alumni. EZ is a very active participant and supporter of youth leadership programs in the area. A reunion for the class of '82 sounds great! I can't believe it's been 25 years since I've roamed the halls of good ole JCHS. Oh, the memories!!! Another of our classmates, Chevelle Parker, lives here in Ohio as well and is interested in attending too. Keep us posted!!

It was nice to hear that your class reunion went so well. I talked to Cheryl Delaney this week about it. I do have to admit the school has gotten bigger since I left last year. Hopefully our class reunion will be as fun as the one that was just recently done.

Just a quick note of thanks and appreciation for the work done by the Reunion Crew. Enjoyed both Friday and Saturday nights and the tour of the HS on Saturday AM.

Strange how some parts of the school seem smaller now than I remember them and other parts match almost perfectly.

Great idea getting the three classes together. Got to see some faces I hadn't seen in 20 years (duh!) and might never have if it hadn't been for the combo-reunion.

Only downer for the trip was the rampant development happening south and west of town. <snif> Our little town is growing up. Hopefully it will do so in a quality way.

Thanks again for all who made the weekend the great success that it was. Now then, when's the next one?

Hey man hows it going? Ed Doyle was just here visiting me in NC from Vegas, he told me he was going to go to the Reunion but Darin did not respond to his email. Keep me in mind for the 25th as well as Ed. We are both planning a trip back to our Roots in JC and look forward to finding a few old friends and see how things have changed. I left in '84 Sophmore year, I think returned in '86 and have not been back since. I really want to get back there sometime. IS Danny (Klecko) still there? man there are way too many people to ask about, Ohwell I will hopefully see you guys in the next few years any way.

A BIG REUNION THANK YOU!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend as well as this holiday week. Before I go any further, I want to start by giving a big and warm thank you to Liz, Mary, Yvonne, and Kristen for working really hard in putting together what was a GREAT event. You ladies took on quite a task, and really did what I see as a very unselfish act in trying to bring together the greatest class to ever attend Junction City High.

The turnout was awesome! The food, drinks, etc. were great. Seeing old faces and hanging out for two days was amazing. Thanks to everyone who took the time to come out and make the event the success that it was. Aside from the hard work that the four ladies contributed to make it happen, it took each of us to go to JC and have a good time, which I think we did, so thanks to all for that.

For everyone who was there, I was definitely glad to see all of you and hope we can remain in contact going forward. For the others who did not want to go, I have to say you missed out on a beautiful gathering and a great time. And for those that were not able to attend, it is understandable and hopefully we can all catch up in other ways down the road.

Congratulations to everyone on their success both personal and professional up to this point. I wish everyone all the best going forward! Take care of yourselves. I hope to see and talk to everyone again soon.

Well it's that time. In exactly 16 days we will have our 10 year reunion! Gosh, that makes me feel kind've old! =0) We are so excited! It should be a great time for all. Thank you to everyone for being soooo supportive and helpful throughout this learning process.
 
I've received checks from 21 of you so far, and with your spouses it's looking like 34 adults are going to show up for Sat night. If you've mailed your check recently and haven't received a personal email from me, that's because I haven't received it yet. I will email you to confirm receipt of them. If you haven't mailed your checks yet, Tyme Out should be able to accommodate us at the door, I will be checking with the owner tomorrow and I'm thinking he'll be able to help us out. Also, I want to remind everyone that the alcohol is not provided, so bring extra if you want to drink, I know I plan on having at least one cocktail! LOL! There will be Taxi-Cab numbers available so that no one gets into trouble.

Class of 1996: I would have to agree with Carrie's comments. My apologies on behalf of our class to you and all others that these messages do not pertain to. This is really makes our class look really good, especially since we are no longer teenagers. Lets stop with the bickering and focus on event planning. For every minute spent, for every letter typed in these messages is time and resources wasted that COULD HAVE been used towards helping create a wonderful event. Let's step up to the plate and make things happen rather than sit on the sideline and talk about what should be done. Class of 96, for those that are going, I am looking forward to catching up with you all, it will be a good time. Take care.

The computer has a way of doing that, however, I do not tell people they are not acting like adults, I do not take part in saying one thing or another about someone elses personality, and I do not tell people they are being rude or the 'insecure type'. I ask....and I thought I would get answers..not sarcasm. I did get some answers...with a lot of the other stuff which cannot be taken out of context.

if people are "attacking" you..meaing its not only one person seeing it this way, but many...then maybe you should look at the tone your using..remember that we dont understand how you are meaning things so its easy to take it out of context.

I do know this... when someone has a different opinion then you it doesn't mean they are being rude. When someone asked questions and is attacked by a group of people, that in itself says enough.

No one is being hostile. Yes you do need more than a date to make a major purchase. I'm not likely to wonder around JC, with my family in tow, looking for my fellow alumni because we all came to a town and have no where to meet up.
Why is there a need to post my name so that I may be pointed out amongst the group as 'the one who voiced concern and angst', seriously. I speak on my behalf and I'm sure others and that's all that should be addressed. I was asking simple questions...and now I am being attacked for it. I have said before...I APPRECIATE that Yvonne is trying the best to make a reunion possible.

Liz is right, this is the first time for all of us, and most of us live out of state so of course everyone wants to know as much information as possible. I'd like to thank Yvonne immensley for taking this over after Natasha had to back out for family reasons. From the very beginning Yvonne has asked for suggestions and ideas from everyone, and she definitely did not say that she only wanted certain cliques invited. That is ridiculous.

Everyone has had the official date for at least a month now, and as far as I know you dont need more than a date to book a hotel room or a rental car or a plane ticket. Whether the reunion is held in the gym has nothing at all to do with what night you will need a hotel. We all know that many people have plans on the fourth of july, that is a matter of prioritizing what is important to you.

Like everyone else I hope to see as many people as possible from our class that weekend, but i certainly understand that there will be many who cant make it and many who have no interest in making it. There is no sense in creating hostility and making all those people who have worked so hard to put this together feel as though those efforts were in vain.

My only question is why wont you use your name 1996 alumni?

This being the first time for all is understandable, as is the frustrations that others have. I do not feel that my expressing these frustrations in any way, shape or form on this message board is at all child-like. I do not need to be told that I am an adult and to act as one. We are all adults and I am asking questions like an adult..offering assistance like an adult...and expecting answers like an adult. This is a public forum and there are nothing but civilized remarks being made. Taking on this task involves answering questions....you have put yourself out there (glad someone did) and so now you must except the positive and the negative (you thanked all who have given positive feedback and so I feel I am one of the few that have broadcasted my CONCERNS, not meaning to be negative, but have somehow been put in that light because I addressed these CONCERNS). I am grateful that Liz has said there will be an email sent out Monday and I await this email. I will also call to check on the gym status. I am a part of this class, I will hopefully be at the reunion, wherever it may be, taking belly shots and telling me (and everyone) about my (and our) personalities and adult-like behavior is very uncalled for. I chose to use the public message board because I feel that I am addressing issues that many people have and will continue to use it and do not need to take it 'behind the door' with personal emails.

Ok guys, enough is enough. Yes there is a "committee", there are currently 4 of us working on the reunion. This chatting back and forth is counterproductive. We will have every last peice of information by Mon of next week, this includes hotel availability, cost for each family, where and when...etc. As we speak Yvonne is working out the head count for the reunion, in case there is any question, she has now emailed over 100 people trying to get an accurate head count, she is waiting for a response from most of them. There will be a mass email sent out with all of the info everyone needs, included in the email will be a form to print out that includes who to make the checks payable to, address to send it to etc...Hopefully this clears up any and all questions that anyone might have. Please keep in mind that this is something that none of us have ever done before, the first reunion always has a few bugs, and it's a learning experience for all involved. I would like to remind everyone from the Class of 96 that we are adults now, and what does that mean? Well I think it means that petty word fights don't apply anymore. Please be mindful of those who have put forth the effort to make this happen and show some appreciation for the fact that someone was willing to step up and take the lead. I understand the frustration with time constraints and money, again, this is a learning experience and it hasen't been taken lightly; we are trying.... Again I think that if there are any questions that we are not answering please please please feel free to email Yvonne or me, my email is lizzychambers@cox.net we'd be more than willing to address any questions or concerns you might have. As for the rest of the posts, I think that we can all be adults and email privately from here on out, if you have concerns they will only be addressed thru private email, we will however, post the finished information on this site for any and all to see, we do understand that some people do not have personal computers, and if that is the case we will work it out for you. This is obviously becoming a 'tit-4-tat' spectacle and that is not productive. There is no need for there to be any references to my personality, if there was a misunderstanding then so be it, that should have been all that was needed to be said. I am sure I am not the only one who sees that it is now the middle of April and there is still nothing to say about the Reunion but a date. That said weekend is a busy weekend and an expensive one at that, I need more than a date to purchase plane tickets, make hotel reservations, and rent a car....these things need to be done in advance time, is that understandable? Am I not the only one who feels the need for answers? I know it's tough and a lot to deal with...I ask the same as Gustavo did...is there a committee? If there are things that help is needed to get the ball rolling faster then accept some help, no one wants to step on toes, but if you don't have time to do things then let someone else take those duties. If 'others' are already helping then perphaps we can help them. You say this class is a team, then let us help as a team. How long does it take to find out if the gym will be available? What are the other options if that answer takes too long, or it's unavailable, because stating that the paperwork is turned in at this point just isn't a good enough answer whether it's from the school or anyone. What are the hotels that are reserved for our class..this is the first I'm hearing of this.

what i stated in my email was i DIDNT want this reunion to be one with "clicks", i did not say i didnt want certain clicks there. i want this to be a time where we could somehow see past our past and maintain and possibly develop new relationships. funny cause the only person who has stated anything about what i emailed is alumni 96. IF you had an issue with something I said (something you obviously misread) you should have come to me. Posting something like this on this board was ridiculous and immature. it is foolish to think that i would only be inviting a select few. i have worked extremely hard on contacting as many people as possible, and for you to assume other wise tells me alot about your personality.

Thats good that no one is complaining. I am not aware of previous emails nor am I going to get into that on whether or not people will or will not be invited. My viewpoint is that if you are class of 1996, then you have the right to come and should be invited. But the fact is that there is little time to waste. I dont know "1996 Alumni" (maybe I do.. just not the alias.. so who are you fellow blue jay?), but you do bring up a good point about the coordination and those folks that are going through the trouble to come back and catch up with old friends. There are just too few bits and pieces of information and far in between. I wouldn't know where to start as far as tracking down people from the class, but I would say its the hardest challenge to communicate to all. Yvonne does have her work cut out for her, much respect for taking on the task. I guess its a matter of getting a status update as to where we stand, who has been invited, who needs to still be invited, location plans.. and whatever else I haven't thought of. Is there a committee, group, that is helping? Yvonne, let us know how we can help.

First of all, no one is complaining. There is much respect going out to anyone who tries to plan a reunion, however, when people do try to step forward and give advice and it is a given that there is a bit of high school behavior still going on then there becomes the problem. It should not be taken lightly as to getting things in order because people are paying money to come out to KS and expect to be treated with respect no matter what people they hung out with in school, or didn't hang out with, and it seems by far that the ideas that are being accepted or the emails that are being returned and sent out are going to the selected people. I know not everyone got along, but this is a REUNION not a local group gathering, and to be specific, the first email that was sent out by Yvonne stated that she would rather not invite certain 'clicks'. I'm uncertain as to what 'clicks' were referenced, but that is not proper by any means, if not out right rude.

Class of 1996: I want to thank Yvonne for her willingness to take on this task of planning a reunion. She lives out of state and has her own busy life to tend to. Yvonne, I commend your effort and hard work. If anyone is going to complain about the process, they should step forward and take part in it. If you are not involved, please be courteous and show respect. Volunteer your time to help, we will get much more accomplished this way rather than pointing the finger. Yvonne, if you need anything from me let me know.

okay guys~ all i can say is i asked for suggestions in the begining (way back last year) and nobody said anything..the plans will go on as scheduled. i will call some more hotels~ i know we have some reserved for our class..however if that becomes an issue we will figure it out then. me and others have worked really hard on this reunion (its not just a "date set"), and its not fair or nice to try to change things now. this is not a popularity contest but a wonderful opportunity for all of us to see each other and rekindle old friendships..i hope that we can ALL work on this together,its embarassing to show other classes how we do NOT work well as a team. so for future discussion about the reunion please use the email i haven given ~repeatedly~ (yahoo) to talk to me. i am more than open minded on things, but will not stand for any rudeness. i have no problem posting who has responded. i will get to that ASAP, please be patient because i also have a family and school. i hope that in the end this all works out for the best. yvonne

Yvonne - is there a way you can post who have RSVPed to let everyone know who is attending, that may generate more attendance...also, who will decorate the gym? A suggestion could be we don't have to have our reunion in Junction city...we could all fly to a really cool place - what matters is seeing each other not necessarily seeing JC. Thoughts from any other 1996 Grads?

How can there be no conflict, I've already called 3 hotels and they're booked for that weekend. Since there isn't anything set yet but a date, can we change the date to a weekend when there isn't much going on?

Carmel Sheppard former vice principal at JCHS and science teacher at the Junior High School died of cancer on December 5th in Lincoln Nebraska. She was a principal at a Middle School in Lincoln.

1986-Does 86 have any plans for a 20 year reunion going? I would love to see an 80's theme happen and I would be interested in helping in any way that I can. I know someone that can get us a good deal for entertainment.

Some of you already know this, some of you don't. For my family on this list - I am passing along the information about a classmate and friend of mine from high school, Chris Carter, died Thursday, Dec. 30 on I-70, outside of Salina, KS. He was enroute to Kansas City to get married on The Plaza on New Year's Eve. He was on the wrestling team I managed in 1987. His younger brother, Chad, and I graduated together in 1988. FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas — Christopher E. Carter, 36, Fort Sam Houston, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004.

Mr. Carter was born Nov. 18, 1968, in Salina, Kan. He was an SPC in D Company, 187th Medical Battalion, U.S. Army, working in radiology.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Warren Carter; and his stepgrandfather, Eddie Warren.

Survivors include his fiancee, Angie Poling, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a son, Daniel Kinderknecht of Colby, Kan.; his parents, Charles Carter and wife Dianne of Salina and Joyce Eggers and husband Richard of Ellsworth, Kan.; two brothers, Charles Cline Carter Jr. of Overland Park, Kan., and Chad Carter and fiancee Christine Longenecker of Atlanta; two sisters, Brenda Carter of Wichita, Kan., and Becky Carter and fiance Nick O’Brien of Salina; six stepbrothers and sisters, Darin and Dana Urban of Overland Park, Dustin Urban of Kansas City, Kan., Lory and Lane Allison of Roeland Park, Kan., Julie Eggers of Leavenworth, Kan., and Holly Eggers of Concordia, Kan.; his grandparents, Alfred and Jewell Priddy of Lindsborg, Kan., and Roberta Jo Warren of Flatwoods, Ky.; seven aunts and uncles, Wayne and Joyce Carter of Russell, Ky., Grant and Minnie Carter of Grayson, Ky., RaeJeanne and Jay Young III of Catlettsburg, Ky., Chuck and Michelle Priddy, Scott and Judy Becker and Curtis and Ann Priddy, all of Lindsborg, and Janet and Rex Pyeatt of Mulvane, Kan.; five nieces and nephews, Ashley, Elise and Anna Blankenship, Caleb and Taylor Normandin, Alexis Carter and Teagan O’Brien; and a great-niece, Amaya Baldwin.

The class of 1960 JCHS will join the classes of 59, 61, 62, and 63, to have a reunion over Memorial Day Weekend, May 27,28, and 29th 2005, at the NEW Convention Center in Junction City. There will be a break out on Friday evening for each class. Saturday evening will feature live entertainment,. and more in the planning. Please let us know know where you are, so we can keep you informed.
