Forgot to add this one also. Just got both of these from a retired mail handler out of 305. Hope they help someone:

Auto Workers International and its Local 155 (7-CB-15815; 352 NLRB No. 130) Warren, MI, Aug. 26, 2008.
http://www.nlrb.gov/shared_files/Board%20D...ons/352/v352130.htm

The Board adopted the administrative law judge's finding that the Respondents violated Section 8(b)(3) of the Act by failing and refusing to execute a written collective-bargaining agreement ratified by the bargaining unit. The Board modified the Order and notice to include a unit description but it declined to change the judge's cease and desist language or enter an affirmative bargaining order as requested by the General Counsel.

(Chairman Schaumber and Member Liebman participated.)

Charge filed by U.S. Mfg. Corp.; complaint alleged violation of Section 8(b)(3). Hearing at Detroit on Feb. 19, 2008. Adm. Law Judge John H. West issued his decision April 24, 2008.

Thought I would pass this one on to those who may use it:

Honeywell Electronic Materials Mfg., LLC (19-CA-30824, et al.; 352 NLRB No. 135) Spokane, WA Aug. 28, 2008.
http://www.nlrb.gov/shared_files/Board%20D...ons/352/v352135.htm

The Board affirmed the administrative law judge's finding that the Respondent violated Section 8(a)(1) of the Act by (1) soliciting employee grievances and promising to address them in order to undermine employee support for the Union; (2) stating the futility of employees' support for the Union; and (3) interrupting an employee's nonwork-related conversations with other employees because the employee supported the Union, where those conversations were short and nondisruptive. The Board also affirmed the judge's finding that the Respondent did not violate 8(a)(1) and (3) by discharging Terri Bedell for misuse of the Respondent's peer-driven award program.

Grady Smudge and I are still lurking about. As to the newbies to the postal service. Of course there is going to be change but we as union people must make sure that these changes coincide with our national agreement and we must also make sure that managers toe the line according to the CBA and local contracts. Anything thing less and there will be anarchy, anarchy I say. We're still with ya Grady

Also, the Branch President has threaten several employees, and then ran in the tour office changing the story. He had a job abolished, and then had it reposted and bidded on it hisself being the senior man in the place he got it.

The union is basically working hand in hand with management, not to metion the 2 casual in lieu of grievances we lost, even after the arbitrater told the dumb asses what they did wrong, and how to correct the problem, and finally agreeing to not file anymore causual in lieu of grievances.

Sammy,

It is unbelievable the things going on in the Cincinnati Bulk Mail Center. First of all, we have union stewards that do not do the job, mailhandlers do not like going into the union office because they are going to be told management can do whatever they want, you have no grievance, etc, etc. The Branch President does nothing about it, the Local President does nothing about it. It is just a bomb in there waiting to explode.

Idjit,

Like I said, I can use the help, anytime anywhere, but I would also like to pass on what I have learned over my 30 years of being an old fart in the Union.

I may something to offer that will help the new and younger ones in dealing with the OLD FARTS that run the Postal Service. I once felt the same way they do now, but they need to step up and take the plunge.

Changes do not come easy and when dealing with a national arbitrator on our contract, you got to know how the OLD FART think. And how else do you learn about old farts, but from an old fart.

Sure the Union will be around after I retire, no doubt about it. But what shape will it be in 5 years or even 10 years from now? The future is now, not next week or next year. What we do now will determine the types and number of jobs we mail handlers have. The language in our National Agreement is our protection.

Management would love nothing better to do then to weaken our Union and keep us fighting among ourselves. In fact, I truly believe that managements biggest push to discredit the Union is to get rid of all crafts and only have one postal employee classification. Once this is done, it will be interesting what rights the employee will have, because everything will have to start from scratch, no benefits, no lay off protection, no pay rasises or COLAs, no nothing, everything will come to a complete standstill. Everything will have to be renegotiated. It can happen if we allow our Union to be decertified or congress makes a stroke of the pen.

Again, my opinion.

We had a branch meeting yesterday and they said that management likes the fact that they own the bulk and they like it's location. They also said that they plan to bring other operations to the bulk. So that kinda plays into what you are saying. If the FSS's can do both letters and flats then the other p&dc centers are in trouble. We have to keep writing to our congressional reps. All crafts and all facilities. We are all union people and like the old saying goes an injury to one is an injury to all!

Hey Union Member ignor that idiot he's just a divisive element with-in the union who serves no good, let's focus on helping and providing info and hopefully some of the more intelligent posters like Tom Sawyer and Smudge will return. At one point we had posters from many BMC's sharing info lets get back there.

Poo Smells Like You

Why the hell don't you start offering help, good advise, better ideas on solving or helping solve the problems at hand.

Or is your only expertise shooting your mouth off, running down everyone else who does try.

Show us what you've got, if you are such a big bad young mail handler stud who can make a difference.

Start now and help us old farts out. I, as others, always welcome good help and new ideas.

Grady,

From what I can find out, the idea of the "Super Centers" is still in the process and not to be counted out. All the smaller P&D facilities will be at risk through out the states.

All that will remain of them, will be a very few employees on Tours 2 and 3. Tour 1, will only have enough employees to DPS letter mail that comes carrier routed from the super centers and to make dock transfers to the contract drivers of all other mails that are already broken down by AOs.

It would also appear that there is an renewed effort to remove all tray managmenet systems still being used. Another waste of money when they installed them in the first place. They gave management a place to hide mail.

I might add, that if you read the SPO closely on the FSS, it will DPS standard letter mail just as well as flats, something I find enteresting as far as the locations they are being installed. Locations that fall under the "regional distribution" policy of two years ago.

Well the SSM-5 and the PSM-8 are completely gone all the belts and steel have been removed they are in the process of removing the inspectors look-out galleries. After that is done we expect them to start putting the FSM's in.
Everyone is saying the offer to become carriers is a very bad idea.I don't know what they (MGT) is thinking with that idea. But I have to add that thinks are getting worse by the week.
