the diff between a wifi ipod and wifi PDA should be the ease of use. having to input diretcly on a device is annoying. having to bother with a stylus. well, i guess the same can be implemented with PDAs, but at any rate, the authentication to the wifi providers network needs to be automatic so that the user can scroll thru the music libraries as normal. ease of navigation is key. i don't want to bother inputting passwords and using a stylus.

if and when wifi is added to the ipod it needs to be able to integrate with paid wireless networks out there. it needs to be able to play songs directly froma source, not just to download wirelessly.
this is how: login and password for wireless provider are to be input on PC or Mac and installed into ipod via synchroniztion. wifi providers will begin soon to partner with music content providers. music will be provided to paid subscribers either per song or for a slightly higher monthly fee.
when wifi ipod comes in range of provider's wireless network, user will be promted whether they wish to connect. stored login and password will then be authenticated. user will gain access to music library n providers networks based on their subscription.

We don't actually know what Apple is adding wireless to the iPod for. But we do know for sure that it is doing it because Tony Smith has found them recruiting wireless engineers. He speculates a bit, and you can join in!
