PRetty much, you nail it to the house, yes! :-)
I like the idea. An Ethernet cable works just fine for well over 50m, probably twice that if you don't kink it. An antenna cable over a couple of metres is starting to cause losses. So it means that you can really get some height for your mesh box - and that, obviously, means range.
I'm struggling, though, with a concept of using this to get better in-building penetration. I have this vague idea that if all of us in the neighbourhood put these boxes on our highest walls, then set up a mesh. then we really won't have any blind spots. I guess I just have to set up a mesh, and find out...
