Mo, I am a 30-year-old former gymnast and I burst into tears when they announced your name at the selection meeting. Then I spoke with my friends - they all had the same reaction, too. It is so impressive to see what you have done with your life and your career. Kick ass at Nationals and make sure you talk with Miss Val beforehand - seems like when you have her on your side, you are unstoppable.

Yo Mo,
You probably don't remember me, but I was about 12 when I saw you compete at the Olympic test event in Atlanta. That was the one where you won vault and Marinescu cried her way to second place behind you and first all-around. I got your autograph then and really thought you were awesome. If I'd known then how much more awesome you were going to get..I dunno...I'd have proposed or something:) I can't tell you how frickin' cool it is that you mad eit here...you really do inspire me.
Thanx, Matt

First off I just want to say is great job to you and your team. All of you did very well and are off to a great start.

Second thing I want to say is that I played (just finished this year) basketball in college, and love the game a lot. So obviously I'm following the men's team over there and I have to say it it really got me upset to watch them play. Mainly because it seems that they played at times lacking two things that your team does not. That's motivation and a true concept of a TEAM and working as such too. So keep up the good work and get that GOLD girl.

P.S.---If you see Lebron over there tell him the boys from madison, wisconsin say what's up :-P

mo-your desire, determination, discipline and dedication to the sport and your team are unparalled. you have shown many a young gymnast what it means to be a team player as well as a leader.
the bottom line should be your enjoyment of the sport and that is apparent in your delivery and your presentation. the road to excellence is lined with many dreams and you are now living those dreams. enjoy the moment. cherish the experience and live the dream.
practice is over-the only thing left is to shine. no matter the results you will know you have tried your best and shined as brightly as you could.
congratulations to a real gymnastics hero. go mo!

Really nice to hear your story broadcast all over the USA. I only wish I'd known earlier. Seeing you work the lame job while training made me realize that the networks need to do a better job during the four years in between to help out the atheletes. You are a wonderful inspiration to many. Great job filling in last minute on the beam, and bringing home silver with the team. I hope your are still doing it at 29 and you lead the team to gold. I promise to help make sure you don't have to work while you train for that one! I hope you feel really proud, you deserve it. tom@refmedia.com

The whole country owes you a debt...there's no doubt that our team wouldn't be on the medal stand without that gutsy beam routine :) I'm an archeologist and a symphony musician in the Dallas area, and I'm 26...so I've seen a lot of the world and certainly a lot of the Olympics. Hey Mo,
just wanted to say that, you gave a great performance on tuesday. You and US team. Even though it wasn't the gold, everyone still gave it there all. Like your teammates said, Silver is still good. Even though the team didn't get the gold, you guys have to look on the bright side. There always the next olympic games.I mean, each year you ladies get better and better each time. You just keep practicing hard and do what you do best. Your fans, friends and family will always support you no matter how tough things get, you know.Just stay focus so the next olympic games you will be ready. And just think of this like it's just another gymnastics competition. Wish you the best of luck from now till whenever you decide to call in the quits. And congratulations on bringing us the silver. Hi, Mo!

I just wanted to say thank you- you are not only an amazing gymnist, but you've inspired my husband and I more than you know. After watching a bio on the Olympics about you and your struggles, it hit me that maybe we weren't sacrificing as much as we thought. James and I are both artists (graphic design, theatre)- I have been wanting to move to LA for awhile now to go to graduate school, so we're trying to save money in order to make our dream happen. Sometimes I feel like I'm behind because of my age (27), but seeing your story really woke me up. I muted the tv once it was over and said, 'we need to sacrifice even more- what we're doing is just not enough'. Every time I think we need this or we need that- I think of what you have sacrificed for your dream and I realize that stuff just isn't important. What is important is following your heart and your dream.

So, congrads on the silver metal and good luck in the all-around! And thank you for your inspiration!

Dear Ms Bhardwaj,

Congratulations on your performances and silver medal in Athens. It was a pleasure and quite inspirational to watch you perform.

I work for New Century Mortgage Corporation. It is headquartered in Irvine, CA. It is the nation's largest specialty mortgage lender. I manage the company's Management Trainee Program. The Program is for recently graduated college seniors. It is a 56-week training program that teaches them our business from nuts to bolts and prepares them for future leadership positions.

The Management Trainee Program is very competitive. Only the best and brightest graduates are selected. The first class recently started and we are in the process of recruiting for our next class. We are looking for 20 Trainees and will screen more than 1500 applicants to find them.

As I watched the Olympics and heard your story, it occured to me that you would be an excellent candidate for our program. The starting salary, while in training, has a base of $36K, but with bonuses Trainees can expect to earn more than $40K while still in learning the business. Once out of the program the average salary for graduates is in six figures.

I don't know what your future holds for you. I do know that in your very capable hands it will be as bright as the medal you won. If you are interested in talking with me about a challenging and rewarding career with opportunities to lead another team, please call me or send me an E-mail.

I will be out of the office next week and return on August 30. My work number is 949 797-5732 and my E-mail address is alanders@ncen.com. Our company web site is undergoing revisions, but can be found at www.ncen.com or www.newcentury.com. I look forward to talking with you.

Respectfully,

Alan Landers

Great job Mo!!! We were really excited that you made the team and won the team metal! We have been keeping up with you recently after reading an article about you in the Houston Chronicle. My brother is really excited about you doing so well because he says that he knows you from a few years back before your college days. His name is Freddie but at that time he was also known by "Fry". I don't know if that rings a bell, but He was hoping it would.

If you do remember him He was hoping that you could send him a Hey at nani49@netzero.com. Good luck tomorrow!!

It's me again. I just saw you perform and saw the results. I was shocked when I saw that you got a 9.312. I honestly thought something wasn't right.I mean you didn't even mess up. Well I'm sure you know what happen, so if you don't mind, can you please let me know why you got the score that you got. By the way, you were great out there. Hello there,
After I had finished watching the olympics for the evening, i couldn't help but notice your name being mentioned. As you can probably see from the last name, we share something in common. I never would have expected to see anyone with this similarity (especially under these circumstances), by which i mean exact same spelling. I am a 21 year old college student from Stockton,CA hopefully looking to transfer to UCLA in the near future. I will be looking forward to hearing from you, but in the in meantime, CONGRATS to you in the Olympics and in all your major accomplishments! Sambosky7@aol.com

Hey Mo,

I just watched the last gymnastics event last night and saw you in the floor exercise and couldn't believe the score you got. Well it doesn't matter because your story was touching and you have been a great inspiration to everyone and especially the South Asian Community. You were the only reason why I watched the Olympics and it was a pleasure watching you. Once again Congratulations on your achievements and good luck in the future!!! One thing is for sure, you made us all proud. I know it's a long shot, but if you are in the NYC area, it would be a honor to meet you. And it would be a honor and a pleasure to have an autographed pic of you.

Thank you for making Gymnastics fun to watch.....

Your floor exercise was way better then any of the others and should have at the least come in 2nd. You handled the unreal low score with the same admirable style as you showed in the team event. The Romanian team gets way to much favoritism if you ask me. I'm sure you have your own opinion about that though. BTW, what's up with them always landing and taking a step back to pose? It looks like they stick the landing, but the quick step back helps with keeping balanced. I don't know, maybe I'm the only one that has noticed that.

You did great MO and have shown a nation what hard work and dedication can produce. Way to make a come back girl!! =) Your success is bigger and brighter then any medal.

Hello Mohini, I wasn't planning on writting anything and really don't know what to say, or even believe you have time to read everyones comments. But a friend of mine was in gymnastic so because of her I do watch the sport if I see that it is on TV. I think it's great that everyone on the team did a great job, but does it ever feel sad or mad that you only won a silver? I am not trying to take anything away from the silver or bronze winners but if your shooting for gold is it bitter sweet winning the silver. Thanks for your time.

I can't believe you weren't in the Champions Gala. I stayed up late to watch it just to be disappointed on NBC's coverage. I live in Oklahoma City so will you be here in October for the tour? If so, I'd like to know so that I can buy my ticket to see you. Maybe we can grab a pizza while listening to some Beastie Boys. ;D BTW, you were robbed on the floor final!! I think your routine was the best because of that first run that you do where you punch out! I've been a fan of gymnastics since the '92 Olympics but lost interest after I left for the Marines. Thanks for rekindling it again. Also, are you single? I have to say that you have the most gorgeous eyes and smile, and that's the main reason I've been sucked into the sport again. Thanks for doing a good job for the US team!

P.S. I hate it how they hardly mention your name on tv or the coverage. You deserve more attention and recognition!
