No, nothing was done. I believe that the police felt that Verdie had something to do with the murder and did not do enough to collect evidence/follow other leads.

TO GRANDSON So Sorry for your loss, you mentioned the person who believed to have done the murder is in prison on another murder charge, has anyone ever questioned him about your relative?

One of the guy's gf's told the police. My guess is that they denied it.

"I lost several friends in the fire. I was recently at the site on Christmas Eve day; or at the bottom of the hill to be more presise. I wanted to walk up the hill and just look around. Although, I'm sure there's not that much to see anymore. I just feel and have felt for many years I need to go up there for some strange reason, There was a no tresspassing sign, and I did'nt want to risk spending Christmas in jail. first of all you are in the city of Southgate. you would need to call the owners of the property to get permission and then notify Campbell County Dispatch & the Southgate Pd to let them know you have permission to be up there, from what i know they do not let people up there all the time. just for special events.
