The Holmester, aka Canadian poet and editor Michael Holmes, took Books in Canada poetry editor Carmine Starnino to task on The Danforth Review for .... being Carmine.

There were mixed facts, bravado, veiled threats. All the juice of a good match to come.

First read about it here on The Danforth and then read Michael's open letter here on Bookninja - where literary disputees come to borrow our cage.

This doesn't have anything to do with the current bout of Michael 'the MisFit" Holmes vs. Carmine 'Credo' Starnino, but it's related to the book:

Some praise for Parts Unknown from the wrestling world, particularly from Canadian wrestling superstar Lance Storm:

Isn't it all just about moving units?

I know this is Michaels' book promotion spot. I know that his letter is very funny. However since this is about macho male hormones and all that, it has come to my attention that a certain Mr. John Stiles is/was appearing at The Art Bar in May in Toronto. I wonder if said twin/apparition/ phantom man might be interested in challenging the darkly handsome bad boy of Canadian poetry to a wrasslin match.

mean in fight club there was the identity issue wasn`t there? And the struggle for superiority and all that. However as far as I can recall this John Stiles from Port Williams N.S. was photcopying cheques in Waterloo at a church charity on said day in May.

And this comes from a man who was a 6'3, 167 lb grade 10 wrassling champ for Horton District High school.

A full nelson, boys oh boys.

John
