 YESTERDAY ENDED LAST NIGHT
?Are you locked into despair, perplexity and condemnation.
!You will never be promoted until you become overqualified for your present job. Before you start the journey to success, forget the past!
?have you failed, forget about it!
?have you been disappointed with your last performance. Forget about it!
! Stop looking at where you have been and start looking at where you can be.
? How do you do that?
! Here’s the antidote: “Yesterday ended last night!” I REPEAT: “YESTERDAY ENDED LAST NIGHT.”
!It means the past is behind you!
!stop living your life looking in the rearview mirror.
?Does the cross mean anything to you. It means that “Yesterday ended last night!”
!What you can be is about to happen.
!Act like it. !think like it. talk like it!

Paul said it this way in Philippians 3: 13 “forgetting those things which are behind.
!God never examines your past to determine your future.
Moses killed an Egyptian, but God used him to liberate his people, the Israelites.
David committed adultery, yet he was a man after God’s own heart.
Paul was out bounty hunting; yet he was known as the man who shook the world.
!So, what’s the point! Then listen up! Paul, Moses and David’s past hung like a noose over their heads; but they rallied on despite the circumstances. ?why won’t you
?So, what am I saying is this: If something is in your past and its restless and rugged; forget it!
!God has forgiven it, you forget it and move on.

When you read the holy book you instantly are made aware of a spirited principle.
!That losers focus on what they are going through, while champions focus on where God’s taking them to.
?Still reminiscing about the past. The past has ended last night. Focus on where God’s taking you to.
?Are you wining about yesterday.
!Yesterday ended last night.

1: The success toward eliminating what has ended last night is in your attitude.
Proverbs 23:7 says it this way: “as a man thinketh so is he.” Philippians 2:5 say, “let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus.”
Isaiah 26:3 say, “I will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee.”
!You can’t look at “SOAPS:” “FEAR FACTOR”, “YOUNG & RESTLESS” AND “BOLD & SINFUL” all week, and have the peace of God that passeth all understanding, can you?.” Nop! BECAUSE YOU ARE BOLD & BEAUTIFUL, YOU TEND TO BE YOUNG & RESTLESS. BUT AS THE WORLD TURNS, YOUR FREE TIME IS BEING CORRUPTED WITH DYNASTY AS A RESULT OF WHICH YOU'LL END UP IN THE GENERAL HOSPITAL, YOU AND ALL YOUR CHILDREN, ALL THE DAYS OF YOUR LIVES. Henry Forbes says it in a subtle manner: “whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right.” For it’s in your attitude. ! I can’t is the brother of I don’t want to. ! It’s in your attitude, it’s how you see something. ? If so, then what is an attitude.
An attitude is an inner feeling being expressed by your outward behavior.

2: How you sing determines whether “yesterday ended last night.”
Singing because you are happy is love and contentment. Singing to be happy is hypocrisy, paganism and being a Pharisee. ?Why Because it shows your attitude without saying a word. It’s an expression of your true self. It shows that you are like a chameleon. How? !You change color for each circumstance.
!how you sing draws people to you or repels people from you. True singing is never content until it is expressed.
! It determines your success or your failure in everything. !Your singing is a choice; it is never base on circumstances. !Quit saying if things had been different at home, on the job and elsewhere. !You can make it different when you decide to make it different. Quit wining about who you have been. Start thinking about where you can be.

3: “Yesterday ended last night” determines the quality of your relationship with your family.
A father saw his son eating slothfully at the supper table. !He said: “!son, you’re eating like a pig; stop it!” Then, the father realized that the son had been raised in the city all his life and had never seen a pig. Then the father looked at the boy and said: “!son, you do know what a pig is, don’t you?” The son said “yes” !A pig is a dad’s little boy!

4: “Yesterday ending last night” is not what happens to you that matters but what happens in you that matters.
It’s one of two choices. A good attitude and a bad attitude; you have one of those right now; and is yours by choice. !If you’re angry, you’re angry by choice; because you’ve chosen to be angry. The illustration of Dr. Franklin so vividly describes this. Dr. Franklin was a Jewish doctor picked up by the Nazi’s in the holocaust and put in a concentration camp. They killed his family, they gave him a Nazi’s tattoo, cut his hair off, and treated him as an animal. And all through the duration of the holocaust, those whom were around him were amazed at the bright, tough, minded optimism that the man had. And when he was older, they ask him.
?How do you maintain such a script. He said:

“The Nazi’s could take my name, and my family. They could starve me and treat me like an animal. But they could not force me to choose the way I thought about myself and about the future. I refuse to let another man affect the way I feel about myself, and tomorrow.” ! LADIES/GIRL That Mr. is the man you are looking for. !King David said. “let us rejoice and be glad in it.” !Rejoice by choice.
!interpretation: “Yesterday ended last Night.”
!So the next time someone rubs you the wrong way, !choose your attitude.

5: “Yesterday ended last night” determines your attitude for the Day.
Decision is your attitude for the day.
!Think of the things that you allow to destroy your peace. Things such as: the weather, the temperature of the wind, and the cold.
Why? !Remember Birds only pick at the best fruit when it’s ripe! On the other hand, if you can avoid criticism by saying nothing and doing nothing and being nothing, !fine !Choose how you will act, not react. For !I’d rather be criticized and be scandalized than have the appeal of the masses. ?Would you.
?have you had an attitude when going through customs at the airport.
!Does the idea of standing in those long lines irritates the thunder out of you.
?So just when do you choose your attitude.
Bible says: !You choose it in the morning when you get up. Pro 8:17 says “Those that seek me early will find me!”

6: “Yesterday ended last night is determined by your belief.
Think of Thomas and the apostle Paul in conversation. Doubting Thomas had as his professor the son of God who dispel all skeptics. !Sounds like pretty good leadership to me. Yet, all he could say after 31/2 years is: !Paul, I can’t believe it unless I push my thumb in his side. Paul say, !You kidding me. ?You remember my encounter with God on the way to Damascus. He said; If God can forgive a sinner like me, am out of here! He had the greatest ministry outside the son of God himself.
?What is the difference. Paul said, I can do all things through Christ. !Thomas said: “until I see, I will never believe. !Your belief is contagious. Just like One day a boy came home from school and said: “Dad, I failed my arithmetic test” Dad said: “!That’s negative son be positive or don’t say that!” The boy said: “!Am positive! for I fail my arithmetic test!”
Your belief inhales oxygen and exhales carbon dioxide. !That kind of attitude spreads like wildfire!

7: “Yesterday ending last night hinges on your attitude towards others as God’s attitude toward you.
?People do not go around petting bulldogs or pit bulls, do they?. If you have friends, you must show yourself friendly.
?Would you choose to live your life like a prickle pear. The story is told of a housewife who forgot that it was garbage pickup day! As the garbage truck came by, she was running with the garbage can. Her hair was in curlers, the bathrobes toss in the wind, her false teeth were out and her wig was not on.
!She shouted to the man on the garbage truck, ?am I too late, am I too late!. He said:
!Come, jump on honey, we got plenty of room.
!Your attitude toward God determines his attitude toward you.
A wealthy man died and left his will. And by law, his estate was to be sold at the auction and converted and given to the surviving relatives. During the sale, the auctioneer held up and old frame photograph of his son in law.
!Here’s a picture of the Son of the man who had died! This son saved a drowning woman from a ragging storm. The bids went; once, twice, three times.
!It was bought by an old lady, was wrapped, taken home, and placed on the night stand;
Next morning, she picked it up, unwrapped it, and found the will in the hollow part of the back! It said:
“I give all my possessions to the person who loves my son in law to purchase his photograph.
!She is instantly that inheritor! Just like God the father has a son whose name is Jesus. He has promised to give a life to those who love him and accept him. If you choose to accept him, “Yesterday will have ended last night for you! ” If not, you’ll remain with a proud look, a harsh tone, a callous handshake and a pompous walk. For you will choose whether yesterday has ended last night!

I lived in Brooklyn for a short time and also worked in Brooklyn (three separate jobs). I grew up in Staten Island. Brooklyn isn't so mysterious at all. I believe there are over 5 million people in Brooklyn alone, the most populous of the five boroughs of NYC. It's funny, if I had to come up with one word to define the people native to Brooklyn, I'd have to say "defensive." By the way, there ARE trees there, many of them... sprawling parks, shopping plazas and malls, subways, restaurants, apartment complexes and also lovely single-family houses. It is, truly, just like any other big-city area. A few things that do set it apart from many other cities are the traffic lights, the diverse eateries, and the profound pride exhibited by its natives. Oh yeah, and let's not forget the accent. I am a native New Yorker and can pretty much pick out someone from Brooklyn in a huge crowd of people if everyone is talking at once! It's an accent not to be forgotten!

Yes, Brooklyn is indeed a mysterious land. In 1935, Thomas Wolfe wrote a story "Only the Dead Know Brooklyn". The title serves to deepen the mystery. The implication is that no one who is living has an adequate knowledge of the place. The title was so good that another Thomas, Thomas Boyle, re-used it in 1989 for a mystery novel set in Brooklyn. Boyle demonstrates a great knowledge of the borough in his writings although he is from Pennsylvania. I met him at a book signing and thus have an autographed copy of his book.

Brooklyn has been a living paradox for the last century or so; it is a part of New York City, but also a place apart. For most of its history, it was a separate city. However, not long after the Brooklyn Bridge was built, the voters of Brooklyn decided to join New York City. (Perhaps the vote was rigged.) Growing up in Brooklyn, we never said that we were going to Manahttan. The phrase was "going to New York". This was used even though we were residents of New York City and New York State. Clearly, we were our own place. -Paul

Yes, you are right -- I do not know where Brooklyn is on a map. You are right. I also don't know why the most famous science popularizers (Asimov, etc.) came from Brooklyn.
