Ever read the comics about the Jackabasselope in Bloom County?

I didn't find it on the website, but I know it is in the books. http://www.berkeleybreathed.com

I need to interview someone who has actually seen a Jackalope. any volenteers?

1. When did you first see a jackalope?
2. Did you believe in jackalopes before you saw one?
3. Describe your first encounter with it?
4. What did it look like?
5. Have you seen any since then?
6. How did people react when they heard that you saw one?
7. Did you take any pictures of it?
8. Anything else you want to add?

Ahh the Jackalope, I've seen quite a few too. My grandmother grew up in South Dakota and my uncle lives in Arizona- I remember them from our family vacations out west when I was a kid.

On the subject of taxidermy curiosities- a member of another message board was showing off his recently acquired Fiji Mermaid. Check it out here:

Damn creepy. Remids me of stuff from the Ripley's Believe it or not museum- at Niagara Falls I think?
You should see the other pieces this taxidermy place has done:

See the Fantasy Works section it's a whole 'nother level from "taxidermied squirrels dressed as hula dancers".
The siamese squirrel fighting itself for the walnut is my fav, Eewww...

I'm going to stick to just feeding the live ones at the park.

Hey Bonnie!

You might recognize me from the sw.com boards!

This article just made me laugh. I had a stuffed Jackalope when I was in college. My roomie bought it at a flea market in Austin. We always hung out hats on it.

Anyway, just wanted to stop by & say what a great site this is. Cool pics of you as Bettie Page. I'm pretty fond of her myself, and have a pretty nice collection of her stuff.

So Kiddo, What have you been doing? You don't write as often as you used too. That Jackalope thing is pretty strange, however, look at the sloth, the platapus, that wierd underwater walrus thiny in the rain forest. Bigfoot? Nessy? I could go on.

So tell us what you've been up too the last few weeks? How has the book changed your life? Have you purchased anything strange with your new wealth?

Any relation to the Snipe I wonder? Oh, many's the night I wait eagerly in my snipe hut for my first site of the elusive beast.
