I actually tried the Atkins diet back in mid-March, just to see what the fuss was about. In the first two weeks, or the "Induction Phase", you are only allowed to eat meat, green veggies, some cheese and water. After a rough couple of first days, I actually got into it and became used to it and, believe it or not, even enjoyed it for a couple of hour. I dropped 10 pounds(!) in the first week, then a pound a week for another five weeks. If you're into losing quick weight, mostly due to too much pasta (like me), then it's not a bad way to go, but to try and carry on the diet as a "lifestyle" is pointless.
The key that I found is : eat less and move more. I think we all agree on that, though.
