Linda -
We regularly have Karen Perry, Loretta Beaver, and Shera Ashley. They have been our most active participants this year. I have been serving as the ASU faculty contact for this group. Tracie

Don't you all meet together? Paperwork has been a nightmare on this end.

We do meet together, which gives us the ability to talk across grade levels and engage in some more meaningful activities. We have tried to keep attendance separately and to maintain the two Q-topic sites, though, because that is how they are set up. I don't think that any of us would complain about having a single Q-topic site or a single PLC for mathematics. We've just tried to work within the structure as we inherited it. I didn't think the paperwork on your end would be any different. We just both happen to meet on the same night and only require one room.
Middle grades participants usually include Loretta Beaver, Karen Perry, and Shera Ashley. Secondary grades participants usually include Jason Willis, Amy Worley, Roseanna Wade, Christina Pennington, and Claudette Reep. We have others who pop in occasionally, but this seems to be our standard attendance. From ASU, Debbie Crocker and I are usually in attendance.
Does anyone have a concern over joining into a single PLC?

Doing one large group would be fine by me. I usually do the notes and attendance for the middle school group, but it would make sense to combine the groups into one since we meet together. It would save two of us sending pretty much the same information to people who get info from the HS and MS PLCs.

April 23-24. You will stay at the Broyhill have dinner, breakfast and lunch, sub paid, shadow math professor on Friday. If you are not interested please choose two people from the Partnership schools (total of two). Thanks

Are you wanting just high school? If you need middle school reps also, I would be willing.

I hate to sound negative, but April 23&24 is the weekend of Merlefest in Wilkes Co.
I seriously doubt we'll have takers from our county. :(
I can't come b/c we take our 8th graders to Merlefest on that Friday. Amy

Would you give an email or website to be able to find out more about the Integrated Math class to be offered this summer?
Thx

Hello Everyone!

Amy Maxey, from West Forsyth High School, has agreed to share some information and take questions about Integrated Mathematics at our meeting on Tuesday, March 24. Amy teaches Integrated Math at West Forsyth. If you have other teachers at your school or in your
district who would like to join the discussion, please invite them to attend.

You may have seen Linda McCalister's earlier posting:

We have been notified that until further notice, all
expenditures involving state monies are frozen. All remaining
PLC and PDS meetings will have to be done on a volunteer basis.
I will let you know if this changes. Thank you.

With this said, how many of you will attend an April meeting if you do not receive a stipend? Our plan for that session was to present some of the possible new technology that will be used to facilitate communications for the PLC in the near future, to discuss the upcoming year and possible opportunities, and to end the year with supper some where. Any thoughts?
