I don't really see what is all great about Dr. Doom. I would be more afraid of the Brood. All they have to do is knock you out and lay an egg in your chest. Doom can beat you but the Brood can make you one of them.

Hey, if you like alternate futures, DC has a couple of stories going on that are fun reads. Check out Teen Titans #17 & #18, and also Superman/Batman #14. Both futures are very grim but entertaining. The Teen Titans encounter themselves ten years in the future and do not like what they see. It is interesting to see how the characters' powers and abilities have grown but with the influence of some terrible "crisis" event. In Superman/Batman, both are taken from their point of origin into the future (guess by who?). Both are trained so they can rule the world once they are put back in order to change the future. I do think in the end, the Anatole(heroic) universe will prevail over the Mario(darker) universe.

Buy The Gift TPB! OUT NOW!!!! This is one trade you don't want to miss.
The Gift #8 is out! According to Raven Gregory this is the most important and different issue of The Gift.
The story follows the Ancient One. He has these item's...these "gift's" that have these incredible powers that he gives to normal everyday people. So depending on what kind of character the person is or what kind of situation their in determinds how the story plays out. Now the first arc of the series deals with a different character receiving a different "gift" each issue. But as you read through the stories you start to see subtle hints and clues as to why the Ancient One is doing what he's doing. And as the characters start to come back around later on in the series and interacting with each other you start to realize that nothing has happened by chance...that it's all been a part of this plan that he's had from the very beginning.
Kinda like the Twilight Zone on crack.

Me too. I'm going to miss Capt. Boomerang.
Okay, that was a joke. I'm really going to miss Ronnie Raymond. The way they "killed" him was pointless and only so they could expain the new Firestorm series, which I'm sure will be canceled any time now.
Interesting related developments in Flash--Heatwave and a couple of other rogues who have gone straight are ticked off at being harrassed by JlAers... as well they should be. This comic has all the DC heroes acting like amoral vigilantes. Very sad.

I'm going to be completely honest. I felt a few tears come out on the last Identity Crisis.

Welcome, Danny. I think Colossus died as a result of the mutant killing legacy virus. Check out: http://www.marveldirectory.com/individuals/c/colossus.htmfor a nice history. He died testing the vaccine that eliminated the virus. I'm sure it seemed noble and important at the time, but it was a weak way to kill off such a beloved character. dan "know-it-all" shahin

While it pains me to agree with you, I saw the Colossus appearance in Ast. X-Men and it was jarring but without knowing the storyline behind his death. I'm still kinda hazy where the storyline is going.

I had a neighbor down the street who got shot in the eye with an arrow. He lived but he lost the eye. If GA was smart he'd have jammed it in Slade's good eye, not the one that doesn't work! Seriously, can you really be the world'd greatest assassin with no depth perception?
I always thought the good-natured hippie vs fascist bantering between Green Arrow and Hawkman was to mask their obvious attraction for each other. You're right that it's a little bit of a stretch to say it was really all about whether it was ok to brainwash super villains. Wasn't this already done in Squadron Supreme?
They can't kill Jimmy, but I think you might be right about Jack(?) Drake, Robin's dad. It would get him out of the way and we'd be back to the classic revenge-driven orphan acrobat model for Robin.
