Hello Everyone,

I am new to this site I'm from Kappa Class Fall '94 at Gamma Nu at SUNY New Paltz. I was hoping that perhaps some sisters wouldn't mind helping my youngest sister out.
This past weekend, she auditioned infront of hundreds of people in the middle of Sunrise Mall on L.I. NY for WBLI's Island Idol. Out of 300 people, after one 30 second audition, the station chose 20 people to continue.

Now, it's time to vote….if you could take a minute out of your schedules before next Monday to go onto this website www.wbli.com and vote for Alelish Bates after a quick registration, (just have to enter name email and number, they won't send you junk, it's just to validate your vote)that would be great!! Once you are on the home page, you'll see "On air broadcast" you can click that and a quick commercial comes up and then go to "Island Idol" and click "vote for your favorite" you can listen to her audition if you clicked on the "on air broadcast" and you can listen to her audition before you vote.

Has anyone heard of how our sisters down south are dealing with Katrina? According to the website, we have chapters at University of Alabama and Tulane University, as well as a few in Florida. Is anyone on here from these University's? My prayers to everyone that lives down there. I was just on a vacation in New Orleans literally the week before Katrina hit the wonderful city.

Hello everyone,

The Memphis Sound Drum and Bugle corp is a non-profit organization that is a part of DCI (drum corps international) That tours across the states performing marching shows parades and other events. The group consists of 50 to 60 young men and women who dedicate their summer to making the perfect on field marching show and in the process build bonds of friendship, family, and core values of music and discipline.

We are the current DCI division 3 world champions. I myself am a member of the corps this season. And am excited to be apart of this experience.

This season we are in need of more volunteers to travel with us for the summer to aid these fine young performers in their work. currently there are a few spots of importance that require people willing to give their time to assist:

we need
-an equipment truck driver
-a uniform washer/repairer
-a volunteer to handle medical issues
-several people to assist on the road with corp needs
-food truck handlers
-volunteer to help get equipment on the field

as you can see, we are in need of quite a few volunteers and the experience you will receive while traveling with us will go much farther than you think. The Memphis Sound works like family and the friendships and bonds you forms with us will stay with you forever. You will also get to see some of the hardest working young performs in the world and even get to witness the DCI world championships.

Due to our free medical care status, we are understaffed with most of the workers volunteering their services, so most often the turn up is usually poor because they have other commitments and families to feed, so at the moment we at the clinic, are in dire need of medical volunteers to come and assist on short or long term basis.
