Headhunter says Verizon will be making an offer this week. He has no reason to lie, but I remain skeptical. Teaching Company turned me down today. We wait and see...

And now he says I'm "making phone calls" to people who left positive reviews, and I got two email notifications that someone tried to change my password at Amazon. Edited 05-15-2012 02:17 AM

He's claiming she wrote insulting comments, accused them of posting fake positive reviews (all of which have been deleted), and says she put up a website featuring pictures from his FB page and insulting comments (which has since been taken down). Also claims his lawyer tracked the website back to Troph's blog URL (???). I've already spoken with HR at the old job to notify them.

I misread "the editing" as "the ending". I thought he was refering to the last story in the book. By the way, how, exactly, has his wife's book been slandered?

Top one. "outragedamazonuser" gives it 5 stars and calls Troph a psychopath. This was how I spent my day yesterday, getting texts from this guy.

"It's Verizon" I'd like to get compensation for every time I hear that. I deal with them (the wireless side) constantly, and we also use their wired side here so that manager is always talking with them as well.
They really don't know what they're doing. Perhaps that's to strong; it's a juggernaut of a corporation.

So you might notice that there is a bad review up for the book http://www.amazon.com/Solstice-Chronicles-...d=1334669910&sr=1-6 Not so much a review as an insult to Troph. It's from a guy who used to work for me who is now accusing Troph of slandering his wife's ebook. Oh what fun! http://www.amazon.com/The-Molecules-That-S...d=1335553886&sr=8-1#_

You may have heard the recent story of the University of West Georgia girl fighting a flesh-eating bacteria. (A news organization is foolish to pass up any opportunity to run a story involving flesh-eating bacteria.) She fell while doing "outdoorsy" activities in the woods and got the bacteria in a deep cut. It's taken her leg and some abdomen so far, and they're talking about the arms and other leg having to come off before she's "saved". I feel bad for this girl, but the delicious irony is her college major. I quote from CNN: "eco-psychology -- the idea that harmonizing with nature can be a powerful tool in ensuring one's psychological health and vitality" http://www.cnn.com/2012/05/13/health/georg...dex.html?hpt=hp_bn1Edited 05-14-2012 12:08 AM

It's Verizon. They let Charlie work for them. And If I refused to work for companies that didn't know what they're doing I'd still be delivering pizza...
I suspect the issue here is that the job was first posted by the tech staffing agency that headhunts for this division of Verizon, and the headhunter who first contacted me linked me to a bunch of forms to fill, and at least one of them was an incorrect form. Once the interviewing process was going the robo-programs that handle applications spotted the issue and red-flagged it. Verizon's HR stepped in and sent me the right links. This happened to me at Encompass with a few applicants, and it is usually easier to have the start from scratch than untangle the info on record in the computers. Usually this stuff is handled by the recruiting (or Talent Acquisition) department, but since a headhunter was involved its all done by computer.
