Natchica - Thank you for your reply. Do you know if your friend is in Portsmouth? I don't know many people down here and am having a rough time - Paul gets his first deployment in August and I am dreading it..
Richardo - We do have a RFA Section on RN.Com, but its a fairly new site and its not used alot, saying that I have put a thread on there so fingers crossed!

Ello all, welcome to Jill.Ihave a freind whose hubby is RFA,he too was in the navy for 23 years.I will try and find out from her when i speak to her about support for RFA wives as i know she is in touch with other RFA wives etc...Her hubby does a 4 month stint out and then home a for a month or so and then joins another ship.He doesn't seem to stay on the same ship when he goes on leave. Is weird cos when he was in the navy he didnt spend a lot of time away cos of what he was, and now he is always away. But thats how they like it.Will try and get some info from her.x Well im nat, hubby ex navy(22 years),been a civi now for a year.living in pompey and have 3 boys 19,15 and a 4 year old. ricardo, hey hun,see you r busy as ever with work and visiting your darling christina.Must be so hard both for u,lynne and her. Hello Shiela, nice to see you making the most of your lurveeeeeee shack!!U make the most of it.Poor Jamienot being allowed home.I remember those moments really well.I suppose if he lived local to the ship he might have been able to go home for the night.I can always remember when i used to say goodbye to hubby only for him to come back and say the ship never sailed etccc. But there were times that he wasn't allowed home cos the ship was on sailing orders...Hope by now jamie might have sailed. Cindy is around, well i hope she is.lol.Hope now that scott is a civi she will saty on the baords.Cindy if u r lurking, can u say hello.xx anyway u all take care. love natxx

Hi Jill
I was under the impression that there was an RFA forum on RNCom the Royal Navy Community Web site but having had a quick look I can't see anything but we can certainly try to lend you support on here.
I enjoy working for Welfare (NPFS)and am the Advice Worker for Northern Area of UK. I've met alot of nice people through the job and through this website too. So stick around Jill and you'll be alright.

Ricardo - Thank you for your reply..
Paul is EX-RN and has been left aboout 7 years, so him going back to RFA is alot different. I have lived in Pompey for 3 years, but have just moved to Fareham and don't know anybody, so I am dreading his first depolyment. Sadly there is no support for us RFA wives - which I am trying to change!!!
Working for RN Welfare must be an intresting job!

Greetings one and all,
Jill, welcome, I'm Ricardo, ex submariner Tiff. I left in 94 but was invalided due to body falling to bits with arthritis. Not sure what I would've done had I been fit, but have ended up working for Navy Welfare, north of the border in sunny Helensburgh. I would imagine you man joining the RFA would mean long deployments, how do feel about that?.
Sheila and Nat. Christina has now been assigned a social worker to look into supported accommodation. she has been to discuss with Christina and we are due to meet her next week. I find it difficult to deal with at the moment, visits are very sad as she lives in her own confused world where voices tell her all manner of terrible things and she can often be very frightened but at other times will laugh. She gets people mixed up and refers to people as if they were someone else. Because of this she and others don't get far in conversation.
Lynne finds visiting very difficult so only tends to go at the weekend when we take Christina to the tea bar and outside. So I'm her only visitor every other day which again is sad........work

Sarah,
While he's confused, I never got my ten boxes either, to be delivered to the Families Centre.........................he'll remember.
Ricardo
Nat, arthur's a bar steward, pure and simple.
Scatty, there was an Orange Parade where about 60 folk were arrested for various offences.
Time to go home..............................
