Ello peeps>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>im back.!1 Wot a rollercoaster of a week we have had.Kieran had to be admitted into hospital as his viral infection had turned nasty making him unable to breathe properly, turning blue, high temp and unable to walk very well and very drowsy.Got admitted and he had tonsilitis, temps of 40 and a bad viral infection going thru his body.First night was spent with the icu staff ,where they monitored his breathing and put him on iv drip etc. They told us he might have to have had an emergency op to remove his tonsils as they were narrowing his airways but the specialist did not want to put kieran at risk cos of the infection and high temp ,so that was cancelled and the op is to take place on the 7th.Felt so sorry for him as he was pricked sooooooo many times ,as they needed blood but cos he was dehydrated his veins were collapsed and thye didn't get any blood. Was scary as to how poorly kieran was.On the sat the docs that came to see him told us he had a bad uti infection and that we needed to be transferred to st marys.Strannge cos the only time they did a urine sample we were told it was clear????Anyway instead of an ambulance transfer, they told hubby seeing as he had a car he could take us..I was a bit worried as kieran still had high temp and still had the drip thingy in his hand.We got to st marys and we were put in a waiting area(no bed nothing),and told to wait our turn and we wld be seen by a nurse. This ward is where docs refer outpatients to be assesd. After about an hr wait this nurse assessed kieran, pulse, temp etcc, which had only been done at Qa,and thye had all the notes!!!Then after we were told to wait to see the doc.Another long wait and fianlly we got seen, only to be told kieran was well enough to go home.So why on earth transfer us when they cld have done it when the first set of docs saw him up QA.We have ??? whether kieran shld have been transferred the way he did by hubby,as he still was under their care and he had a canular and high temp and why we were treated as if we were outpatients as he was still an inpatient???? Not sure if that is right procedure but what if sumfink had gone wrong whilst hubby was driving us there.Does anyone know if this is standard procedure????? But we r home now and he is more or less back to normal.Drinking and eating and a lot happier!!!Got togo back to the same place this thurs for his preop. The hospital is a bit busy at the mo, as they r transfering wards to the new bit of the super hospital. You can get lost in that place..So fingers crossed once kieran has his tonsils out he shld feel a lot better and won't suffer too much!!!xx ...and no more hospitals. As for this directory for mobiles....,if they want your number they will get it somehow.lol.I used to work for a company where they buy numbers of fone companies so nothing stopping them getting in touch.lol.Also how would they get your details if you do not register your fone????I have not registered my mobile so how can thye get my details??heehee. Ricardo nice to see you about.xxxHope all is well.xx scatty thanks for kierans card.xxHope all is well with you.x to everyone else big hellos,i havent read thru all posts yet and haven't even had chance to enter the comps .so much catching up to do.I went back to work today too,soo meag busy.xx anywya will cathc up properly with you peeps later on.x tata for now love natxx
p.s cindy re scotland, think we will have to arrange another date as i don't want to leave kieran just yet ad got family comming to see him. Will try and cathc u online and we can discuss other dates.xx

Hi
Glad to hear Kieran is back home and feeling better. I know how stressful it can be having a youngster in hospital, Jack had a burst appendix and secondary peritonitis in 2006, at the age of 9.

Natchica: WOW you had great fun then...NOT I was up to speed with it all on TXT...I wish you well for the pre op checks on Thursday, lets hope the little one isnt to scared after the trauma of the other week.
Sapphire: There is nothing worse than really sick kids...
Talking off sick kids little Mia at My Mums and Tos group is 18 months old and has to have a MAJOR open heart surgery done on 3rd July, we are not sure off what the outcome will be till they open her up, could be from good to very bad..sometimes we forget how lucky we are..I was this age when I had my open heart op done, so know get an idea of what my Mum went through. I have known Laura the Mum since she was a young girl,so even feels more close to home for me..
I am off out in this HEAT to a play Farm its called Odds Farm (LOL) and is Wooburn Green way so about 30 mins away with all the Mums and TOTS!!!!!!!!!!! so think off me.. OHH and think I have Mylarose later and overnight..Life is full of kids AGAIN!!!!!!
Hope all is well with every one.. BYE XXX

Nat, I'd like to wish Kieran well with his pre-op when does he get his actual op, is it the day after or don't you know yet.
Cidny, sorry to hear of little Mia's plight, hope all goes well for her. Would like to think things have moved on a bit since you had your op done, no offence. Who done yours again.................Christian Barnard.
Seriously, our Lynne had to have major surgery when she was a two year old and it was only after that that she was able to walk - bit of a mini miracle at the time..................of course we barely know what the inside of a hospital looks like in our family.
Sapphire, you're looking well......................work

Hello All
Hope you are all well. Good luck to Kieran and to the little girl Mia.
I've not felt too good recently. I have had a poorly tum for about 10 days and feel quite grotty. I went to the doctor at the end of last week as I had been needing to dash to loo every time I ate, was feeling sick all the time and had griping pains in the tummy. Apart from that I have felt so tired and weak as I haven't been eating much. I had to give a sample and the results were that I had a bug called campylobacter. I think some kind of food poisoning. You get it from birds, contaminated water or animals. Environmental Health had to be informed and they contacted me, but we are not really sure where I picked it up from. I have to stay away from others until I've been clear of symptoms for 48 hours. The symptoms are not as severe now but still around. What fun! I sincerely hope I've not already passed it on to someone else.
It has not been a good week all round. Rob rides a quad bike to work and had bought himself a new one about six weeks ago. He only uses it for work and it is either securely parked round the back or in a secure car park at work. He was having trouble getting it insured for theft without it costing a small fortune and in view of where it is kept he didn't bother. Guess what? It was stolen from where he works. They have it all on CCTV camera and whoever they were it was obvious it was all planned. You need a secure pass to get into the premises and unless you knew the quad was there you can't see it from outside. They pulled down the fencing in exactly the place where it was parked. It cost £3500!! He had the previous one for a year with no problems but of course the new one was bigger and faster. The police think it would have been taken by local gypsies. We still think they must have been told where it was by someone Rob works with. It stinks! He loved that bike and is really upset. He said he wouldn't want it back now if they do find it. He said it would probably have been thrashed anyway. Natalie had taken a photo of it a couple of weeks ago and had it put on to a mug for a Father's Day present. She didn't give it to him. Maybe later when it doesn't feel so raw. He has had to go and buy a little old car to be able to get to work, so more expense. Might not be able to have a holiday now this year. :-(
I've been trying to give some support to a friend of mine who is going through a marriage break up. I have been there as much as possible for her and have been in constant touch either by phone, e-mail and texts at all hours of the day and night. While I have been not feeling too good I haven't replied to all of the e-mails and she is now slagging me off. That has upset me.
Another of my friends lost her mum on June 2nd last year and lost her dad last week.
Rob's dad had an operation on his bowel yesterday and I'm not allowed to visit him, obviously. This op is to reverese the colostomy bag that he had fitted when he had the bowel cancer removed in December 2007. They have also repaired a hernia at the same time. When he has got over this he has to have 20 days radiography on the malignant tumour that is on his oesaphagus. He is still in really good spirits.
As you can see it has not been the best of weeks, but things can only get better. :-)
Joe seems to be enjoying himself on the stop offs the ship has made so far.

Hi Everyone
First of all want to apologise to Nat, just re-read my last post and it looks like I am deflecting from little Kieran by talking about Jack. Thought I had written more, but must have deleted it and clicked send, accidently, honest!! Hope everything goes well tommorrow with his Pre-op.
OMG Scatty, need a lie down after reading your post. As you say, things can only get better. Hope you feel better soon.
Cindy Will be thinking of little Mia and her parents. Not a nice thing to have to go through.
Sheila, where are you, not out in the Love Shack again are you?? Have crops that need harvesting and flowers to grow you know LOL!!
Well, tommorrow Jack and Andy are heading down to Glastonbury until Monday, so FREE TIME for me. Saying that, I will need a break after all the nagging I have had from Andy about the trip. I am sure his parents never took him anywhere when he was little LOL!! Oldest Son comes back from his 3 week holiday in Florida tommorrow and Jay is home from Portsmouth, where he has just completed his course and got, wait for it...100%. So, one lot comes and the other goes. It is like Piccadilly Station!
Will be watching the Armed Forces Day Parade in town on Saturday morning and the local Charity Carnival in the afternoon. Anyone else doing anything special on the day? Did want to attend the day at Chatham, but have Fish, Tarantula, Dog and Boys to feed. What a life!!!!
Ricardo... Looking cool lol!!

Scatty, sending big hugs your way - what a time your havin! Not feeling top notch meself and I'm having to pass up on a nosh with the girls tonight. That's a posh sounding virus you've got, maybe I should get a check up, maybe have mustdr-inkmo-reguiness virus.
Sorry to hear about Robs quad bike. I've always fancied getting a big trike myself but I'd have to clear out my garage to store it and I'm not sure I could face that.
We have groups of Gypsies/Travellers who regularly bring their caravans etc. to the shore near my house. They do always seem to have a few quad bikes with them and they always turn up on a Friday (when the council offices are shut for the weekend) get their eviction notices served the following week and leave the day before they're due in court, leaving an environmental catastrophe in their wake. The police have to leave them alone, only the Council liaison man gets to do anything.
Anyway, I'm thinking of getting a recumbent bicycle so I can get some exercise while out and about, but they cost an arm and a leg.
I'm spotty maldoon again today, everytime I go out to talk to my plants I'm eaten alive by the famous midge
..........................work........Cidny, how's Scott? saw something on rncom.............

I WANT TO SAY RIP MICHAEL JACKSON - He has been part of my growing up since I was in my early teens. First as part of the Jackson Five and then of course later as the singing icon that he became. He was such a sweet young boy, who changed into a very strange and disturbed man. Nevertheless he was very talented and entertaining. I hope he now is in a peaceful place. Also, RIP Farah Fawcett Majors who was a big star when I was younger, who died yesterday after her long fight with cancer.
I a feeling virtually back to normal today. I'm tired, but haven't been eating properly for the last week or so and probably am lacking vitamins. When I go out I think I'll buy a tonic. The girl who was being funny with me has now apologised and is falling over herself to be nice. She is a bit of a drama queen and to be honest she creates her own problems and then cannot cope with them.
Lorraine - I do hope they are able to find the right medication for your hubby. Must be really worrying for you. Take care.
Nat - So glad little Kieran is doing well and hopefully you should find that he is much better once he has got over the op. I remember when Natalie had her tonsils and adenoids out plus grommits in her ears. She was about 4. I was so scared but she woke up and said that she wanted something to eat and made us all laugh. They deal with things better than us. :-) I'm hoping to be fine for tomorrow as I am supposed to be going to an Armed Forces Parade. I have a flag and a pin to wear, plus a sticker in my car.
Spotty Ricardo - I like the sound the sound of your virus. I get bitten by anything that flies and normally have bad reaction to the bites. I saw an advert for in the latest Homeport on page 28 for 'Don't Bite Me Patches'. I'm going to send off for some and you might find them helpful. Hope you are feeling better. :-)
Sapphire - I see it is raining at Glastonbury. That's unusual! LOL I hope Andy and Jack don't get too sodden. You can look forward to washing all their muddy things when they get back. Enjoy your weekend. The Fighting G is soon to go over the Equator. They are seeing some sunshine. Joe was interviewed by a television presenter for a National Geographic Channel programme the other day. He didn't know who he was other than he had red hair, had a Liverpudlian accent and was travelling around the world. Rob said he has seen him and thinks on TV and thinks his name is Martin or Ian Wright. Joe normally shies away from anything that puts him on show so I have to assume that he had been drinking. I hate to think how the interview went if that's the case.
Sheila - Are you out in the caravan this weekend? Funny that you were near Clumber Park last weekend. Have you driven your car yet and what do you think of it if you have? Rob bought an old Micra to go to work in. He said it is an old man's car and I reminded him he is an old man. LOL. It's in good condition with low mileage and he only needs it for work. What more does he want?
Cindy - Are you OK? It's not like you to not be on for a couple of days. You're missed when you are not on here. Hope all is well.

Greetings chaps
I'd echo Scatty in RIP Michael Jackson. Motown has had a big influence on me over the years and although I've never been a great fan of MJ music I'd like to think people will remember him for the good things....................moonwalking...............never did figure that out.
Thanks for showing me the patches in Homeport Scatty, I'm still like spotty muldoon. I definitely attract the midges then scratch where they bite which makes things worse cause everything breaks out so I then pick and scratch and end up looking like a leper. Glad you're feeling better.
Nat, glad all went well for Kieran with his pre op, he's not had it easy has he? same for you of course in looking after him - still I have great faith in your capabilities.
Lorraine, nice to see your post, hope they sort out hubby and his blood pressure soon, I take medication for high blood pressure. Don't think I've got high blood pressure really, just get a bit excited whenever the nurses come near, must be the uniform.
Best of luck to Sheila's Jamie. Index can be very tiring and very busy when you've only so long to get qualified for your Dolphins, no time to sleep. I remember the first time I went to sea I never had a bunk anyway. I had to find someone who was going on watch and cadge their bunk so I could get a quick kip - things could only get better.
I wanted to say thanks for everyone asking after Lady Wife Christina. She's very brown at the moment as she gets to sit outside, although she's hard to recognise as the person I married and I do find visiting very sad. I try to make sure I visit every other day as myself and Lynne are her only visitors. There are folk in the ward who get no visitors at all so I end up taking stuff up for numerous people. ...it's just very very sad.
Work...........................

Heloooooo. Is anybody out there?
I went to a Armed Forces Parade today in Cleethorpes. There was a really good turn out which pleased me.
Ricardo - I caught something on the news about protestors at the parade at Glasgow. Do you know what that was all about?
