I absolutely agree with you on the importance of his creative legacy. I was bowled over by his work when I encountered it (but sadly not him) a few years ago at Xerox Research, Cambridge (which was downsized by the same heavy-handed axe). As an artist-turned-technologist-turned-researcher myself, I find his approach startling and inspiring.
