Jelly, I am also unsure about trying to have an obe. I think if I leave my body that it opens it up to something else being able to inhabit it. I don't know how to convince myself that the things I hear and feel when I have one of these "episodes" isn't real. I know that the ringing has to be real because my ears are still sensitive the day after.
