Question .for your mobile clinics, can I take ferals in traps for fixing?
Or is it only for relatively tame cats in carriers.

Kitz and Katz does not offer pre-operative blood work.
This means we cannot detect any underlying health conditions that may complicate your cat's surgery.

If, for any reason, you feel your cat is not
healthy enough to undergo surgery,
Please TAKE THEM TO YOUR NORMAL VET.

If we make an appt for a feral kitty and for some reason can't get them trapped that particular day, can we cancel at the last minute? If that happened, I would still make a donation.

Is there any other programs in the Hanover area? This is the second time I have tried to make an appointment and there is nothing available. I tried Snap but I can not drive to Harrisburg or Mechanicsburg. I can't schedule it with the SPCA because not knowing what my schedule will be and not having the ability to schedule your own appointment. I have a female thats needs done before she goes into heat.

Since the November Spay/Neuter clinic is full (not surprising) do we have any ideas what the dates will be for 2009? Thanks, and thanks for providing this service!!!

Amy,

You can contact acpals
http://acpals.com/

You can get a certificate that your local vet. will honor. A $40.00 discount for female cat. I have used it already at Clearview for ferals. Dropped cat off in morning and picked cat up later in day. Total cost was around $50.00 I believe with discount. Was a while ago though. Just call ACPALS.
Also when trapping a feral, you can start a week before appointment. Feral will be ok for a week intrap. I sometimes even start earlier upto two weeks and then wire two traps together lengthwise. Enough room for a small litterbox at one end plus food/water on the other and sleeping blanket in center plus cover over top.
Hope this helps..

Are there any other programs in the Hanover area? No, not that I aware of. If you live in Adam's County PAWS will give you a discount certificate towards a participating vet. The York SPCA has a low cost program I think. SNAP might be worth the trip. I understand you have a busy schedule and don't want to drive to another town. But if you are looking for a low cost fix that might be your only option. Good luck!
