I'm going to try to make it for Thursday, 1pm EST. I have a mission critical task to do at 12, ie. deliver my doggie to the groomer for her Christmas do!

I've added mr_robin_good to my buddy list. My YahooID is "egs".

Look forward to a bit of fun!

Hi all - I would like to try for Thursday but I have been sick with the flu and not sure I can make the 4am - will try though Friday is most likely . Is there any chance of one tour later hour ESD for those of us in the sth hemisphere? Just thought I would ask. Even 3-5 pm ESD would work if it is possible.

My yahoo is bron_stuckey

Voxwire http://www.voxwire.com/discuss/robingood/login.php

* Works with dial up
* Not duplexed, but Robin likes this because it allows for some level of control and moderation
* Voxwire is resold through a number of companies
* $15/month for up to 5 people and up from there.

Co-Browsing w/ Voxwire

* sometimes a bit of break up when page loads
* text chat with some formatting ability
* auto smilies
* learning groups in Mideast and US using this for cross cultural learning
* Daily basis for business meetings
* Use technology in the background to more sophisticated tools but to avoid expensive phone calls
* marketing and webseminars.
* Saves teleconf costs
* can leave it on in the background all day with no additional cost
* offers teams a way to have instant voice contact. Just hit control button to "ping" them. Sitting next to each other by voice all day long.

Voxwire is not great for application sharing

We noted that this has worked in SA even though VOIP is not allowed there.

We want to try and test with friends in Nairobi as a VOIP solution would be great

Lee has used WebX for application share. What we'll see today is lower in cost. Easier, access simpler and allows more people to do stuff without having a "big fat wallet" to do it.

You can talk like we are now with people all over the world. Can show presentations in the browser window.

Note: Must be careful who has control of synch or "follow me" mode - turn off follow when done, and establish protocols for turn taking, etc.

Next we go to a new place, to Australia. Maybe some rought terraine, some download. May be rough for Tony. Automatic download.

This next tool is Voicecafe. Not many people resell it.

Can reset URLs for a web tour in this product. Helps reduce stress, avoid typos, etc.

You can preview, present and then have people "follow" you in the tour.

Some question about being able to co-browse password protected sites

I had it wrong. Glance is ONLY application sharing. So combine it with VOIP, etc. Sorry! ;-) This application takes a lot of bandwith. With a good connection, almost real time.

For those of you subscribed to this QT via email, I just realized this may be a spamming sort of experience. However, I did not want to wait too long between posting my notes in case something crashes -- which happens with tours!

Page sharing without some of the usual overhead issues.

This seems to run slow for me. Page loads in fits and starts.

http://www.pageshare.com

1 on 1 page sharing. When you scroll it scrolls on their side. Very low bandwidth, works well. There is a quick demo on their home page.

For this you need good annotation skills and tools. Robin hasnt seen tool that allows for pointing, drawing lines, sketching or highlightin on that page.

Nancy thinks there may be a tool that comes with http://www.wacom.com tablet

Also Training tools from http://www.www.milori.com.com from Milori. Robin really likes the tools. Great annotation tools.

HP Virtual Classroom has some good annotation tools. Maybe we can tour that after the new year!

Our final show in Voicecafe was a great card trick from Robin. If you did not take the tour, you missed a good one!

Then we went back to Robin's Voxwire room for our final experience. Robin has something that will blast our ears to jar us. Some craziness. To a website that will jar us a bit.

When we get there, a little box will open up. You can close that one. Will be sound a music. Will be prompted to click on the center bottom to enter it.

Thanks Nancy for leaving this very fulsome trail through the jungle. When I get some time I hope to follow in your footsteps and leave some comments from the antipodean’s perspective :-)
