Describing the recent changes, revisions, or new images added:
The following design images have either been revised or newly added to a WTC proposal at
http://www.geocities.com/buildingpreservationtech/index.html :
WTC Architecture Images:
1. Revised signature image of WTC looking north.(posted May
17, 2005)
The signature image has received an updated perspective for the Cinema,
an improved residential building, a horizon, gardens and upgraded restaurant,
the Barclay buildings more detailed and their middle and end sections aligned horizontally, more colour. It is also noted that since 7 WTC is built, a second such tower eventually could be add the symmetry in the WTC section under the skybridges. The Promenade over Vesey Street should be retained for security purposes.
3. WTC Plan 4 looking east is revised to show only one height for the
Twin Tower structure.(rather than showing 2 heights in one image).
4. WTC Site Plan has a Phased Construction proposal for phased development.
5. WTC Museum looking northeast is upgraded. (reported
a few weeks ago. Did you see this?)
6. WTC Museum looking northwest is upgraded. (reported a few weeks ago.)
6a Memorial Window display sampling for each tower, Interpretative museum, and Memorial Chamber is illustrated along with the blast resistant feature of using vertical arched walls perpendicular to the perimeter of the buildings, as well as cross-bracing of reinforced concrete in the ceilings. (posted on website May 11, 2005)
What is nice, is that you can combine beauty with blast resistant functionality, even while it reminds us that Gothic and other arches
had their own safety uses in times past!
7. What the Memorial Chamber (red) might look like at Ground Level with the pit raised. View 1 View 2
(posted on WTC site May 17, 2005)
You might have seen this in the Flight 93 work, but not with the WTC website.
