Too Far - in the Flt. 93 competition materials and in comments made to the press there's an emphasis on "simple" and "natural" so I think we will see low-key finalists and honorable mentions. They can still be powerful, but they'll kind of blend in to the site and use mostly natural materials and landscaping. I'd contrast that to New York, where something towering might have worked.
I looked at every one of the New York boards, and all the boards by the posters at this website, and I sure got the feeling that people were trying to follow the mission statement, not just doing their own private thing. All the complaints around here about the New York finalists were based on not following the mission statement, and that shows people were very aware of it, whether someone agrees with the complainers or not.
I have my own hope that we will see at least one piece of original sculpture, but because there wasn't any at all at New York I'm certainly not expecting to.

"What I would recommend is to seek help, or gain attention in another way."
I'd say that quote applies to YOU more than anyone else that has ever posted on this board, Cityslob. Your ridiculous justification fo for posting that article about one of Howard Stern's freaks as a WTC issue is much more vile than any post made by Rebecca or anyone else on this board. And you instruct someone else to "seek help." What a joke. Haven't you basked in the reflected glory of those that died for long enough? Haven't you sufficiently milked the dramatic effect of wearing the blood of those people? It's really perfect that you self-ordained holier-than-thou assholes in here have kicked dirt on Rebecca as she has begged for help. You're too busy with your self-absorbed nonsense to help someone that might be dieing in front of your eyes. But you continue mascarade as a representative of those that died on 9/11. You aren't qualified to represent those people. You aren't shit.

Siempro. All 3 Memorials have many goals or mission statements in common. A Memorial design can easily be duplicated in 3 different cities without losing it power or influence because it achieves the common goals or mission statements for all 3 Memorials.
Most designers gave "their" vision. Very few designers went looking for what victims families, their friends, and what the Public wanted. If you look at the Flight 93 Competition website, there is a place (difficult to find)where comments are located from families of those who perished, their friends, and the Public. Those comments are like quality requirements. A casual reading of those comments will show they do not want a minimalist style memorial. Many of those comments are very powerful. Therefore, a powerful memorial.
Also, there are Flight 93 memorial designers who submitted designs for the other 2 memorials. It is like a learning curve, each design gets better. The Flight 93 (the 3rd major memorial) offers the best they can deliver. Is it good enough? I don't know. I am too far away to drive there. Looking at 950 memorial via website will takes weeks to download.

Too Far - the designs are going to be put up on the web, so you can see them yourself. I'm curious about why you think there might be a good design for the WTC among the Shanksville boards. Care to comment?

CITYSLOB. Since the WTC Memorial Competition, you developed a lot of contacts in the field of Memorial Designs, etc. Perhaps, one of your friends will be close enough to Somerset to view the designs for you. They could inform you if there is a design that fulfills the goals and mission statements for the WTC Memorial, the Liberty Park Memorial, and Flight 93 Memorial. If there is a design, it is what New York City lost when they selected a minimalist design.
It is too far for me to drive to view the designs (over 2,000 miles away). I think many designs will have high quality. It is the last major memorial to be built -- until terrorists strike again. By the way, Homeland Security, the FBI, CIA, and politicans have all said it is just a matter of time before we receive another attack.

City... I use this board to get updates on the WTC Competition and other related memorial competitions.
If you would, please contact the board administrators. Perhaps board administrators can identify and block future posts and delete prior posts of the person who is trying to destroy the communication on this board.
I did not establish this topic board, so I do not have the ability to fix this problem. Hopefully, you can get the person's IP address.
