Can I order discount glasses too? Sure you can! Any of our frames can be made into cheap glasses -- with the same discounts as regular eyewear. In fact, all of our frames can be purchased online. And, if you want to know whether you can order glasses as well -- you bet you can!

DON'T MISS THE TOOL SALE, TODAY 9-NOON, AT MARGIE PENNEYS, 21 SPRUCE ST in JAMESTOWN.
Lots of terrific tools at great prices! There will be interesting things for everyone, with a tool guy on hand to answer your questions.
From downtown Jamestown's parking lot, cross the creek and go up Anderson Hill. Road to 21 Spruce is just past the school on the left. Follow the signs to 21 East Spruce.
Note, the driveway is unaccommodating to numerous cars, so consider walking from the school if possible. The parking area around the house limits only a few cars at a time, so keep that in mind.

WOWIE! Please read this carefully to the end...
Just when I think I had the best July 4th ever (last year), another one comes along to surpass it yet again! WHAT A GREAT DAY AND NIGHT topped by a phenomenal fireworks display thanks to JVFD!!! I learned later that our beloved Fire Chief, Rob Kohler, bought the grand finale HEARTS DISPLAY with his own money specifically with Chris and Lulu in mind! What an incredible commUNITY of peace, love, and happiness that I am so glad and proud to be part of!!!
Of course, I am never able to say ALL that I should say on the microphone throughout the day, so I would like to reiterate DEEP and SINCERE THANKS on behalf of JVFD/EMS to EVERY SINGLE PERSON who worked so hard and joined in this enormous commUNITY effort. Together we created another raging success...

Many of the sound techies throughout the day continued to help after their "shift" was over (Richard Jenkins) and many stepped up to help out even though they didn't have a shift (Gary Dunn, Michael Brotherton). Restoration Volunteers Needed Immediately
This Friday, June 12, 2009, we will be working with a small team of Forest Service folks in the upper reaches of Howlett Gulch to further stabilize the newly restored area with plantings of bushes. This area was the source of the mudflow through Jamestown. We need a few local volunteers to help with the plantings during the morning hours 8:30 AM till noon. Please contact Colleen Williams, James Creek Watershed Initiative, at 303-449-2621 ASAP. Help to make positive changes within your community!

The EMS vehicle is parked outside the firehall untill late Tuesday evening or early Wednesday because the firehall is being used as the polling place for voting. I locked the vehicle and the keys are inside the firehall on the bulletin board by the radios. Please remember to keep the EMS vehicle locked if it is ever out of the firehall and unattended.

JVFD EMS Team Update:
Please mark your calendars for the following EMS training dates for 2008 to be held at 180 Main Street instead of the Fire Hall:
1. October 27, 2008 - Topic: Bloodborn Pathogens from the RapidCE website. This online course is under the Occupational Safety category on the home page. It is number B301. We will be practicing skills from this class and review the basic skills of responding to any incident.
2. November 24, 2008 - Topic: Abdominal Injuries Online course B241.
3. December 15, 2008 - Topic: Skills practicals and testing. This class is required to all EMS First Responders.
As your EMS Chief it is my responsibility to provide you with the opportunities for training to keep your First Responder Certification and make sure that you are skilled to provide safe treatment on the scene. It is important that you attend the monthly trainings to practice your skills. At least 4 of your 12 CEUs should be from attending the monthly trainings each year.
It is your responsibility to attend the trainings to practice skills, keep your First Responders status by having 12 CEUs annually, wear your radios and learn how to use them, respond to all 911 calls to the Fire Hall, do not respond if you are impaired from drugs or alcohol, and work as a team.
All of you put in the time to get your First Responders certification. It would be unfortunate if you let this lapse and then have to take the entire course over again. After January 1, 2009, those who do not have their 12 CEUs completed will not be listed on the EMS Team as First Responders. Please contact me if I can help in any way to keep you on this team. We value every member of the EMS Team.
Thank you for helping your community.

Hi Friends! I just got the following message from Holly Mann and she asked me to share it:
Dear All: I just want to say thank you. To you and EVERYONE who have helped us. I am home and trying to heal. I am feeling better. We are still waiting for the pathology results. I won't know anything for sure until I have another pregnancy test (next week). If it is negative they we will have to assume that they got everything with the surgery. If it is positive, then there is a cancer and they will look further. So for now I am just trying to get medications straightened out for the auto immune disease and get back on my feet. I am very grateful to all of you.
All my Love, Holly and Family
P.S. I will keep you updated. I saw one of my doctors today and she was pleased with my progress.
