And if Stephen Timms promises a <a href="http://www.newswireless.net/articles/03104-timms.html"hotspot in every public library,</a> and every school, is this a good thing?

So, "Timms said that on his way to London, he travelled on the overnight ferry from Aberdeen to Shetland."

Current WiFi hot spot model unsustainable

I have never believed that the paid access WiFi Hotspot was a sustainable commercial proposition.

The balance of costs between "access" and
"management" is all wrong with the management of the billing and billing systems being the main cost item.
If you don't believe me ask any Telco!

Public access WiFi is and will continue to flourish, it will be part of the infrastructure of the establishment offering the service rather than a separately priced offering. If you look at a coffee shop, it now costs
less to deliver a WiFi Hotspot to its customers than it spends on newspapers!
