It's much the same as Verisign's SiteFinder, serving you a Web page you didn't ask for. Web sites often throw up unattractive advertisements as pop-ups - even the quite admirable Snopes.com - and software installations (Realplayer, messaging) try to lead you to sign up for things that you didn't have in mind to accept, and that subsequently pop up when you don't want to see them. But you expect more from a hardware purchase.
By the way, are other people getting these postings running together here? My browser has text size issues since I tried to switch on some of the accessibility. . .
