I was given a 3 wire headlight motor, to replace my burnt out 2 wire motor. Is there any way to make that 3 wire motor work?

i have a 91 firebird and the rear end is making a klunkin noise only when i make a left i jacked it up thinking it was the shocks but when i pulled on the tire it pulls out like a hair not much but anuff to make the klunk what could it be i know nothing about rear axle's pls help
