The Market Theatre, Ledbury:

The 17-piece Malvern Big Band will be back on Saturday 17th April at 8pm. They play an extremely varied mixture of music, ranging from the standards of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn to contemporary big band jazz by composers and arrangers like Sammy Nestico and Kris Berg - and everything in between.

From West End to Broadway on 24th and 25th April at 8pm. On their last visit to The Market Theatre, these performers were a sell-out, creating a buzz that is still reverberating today. Ten years ago, four Midlands-based musical theatre actors, who met in a production of Chicago, got together to produce a show that highlighted the best songs from the greatest of the modern musicals - and now they are playing to sell-out audiences across the region. From their song books, the quartet selected tunes from Boublil and Schönberg (Les Misérables and Miss Saigon), Stephen Sondheim (arguably America's best modern-day composer), and such home grown talents as Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, to name but a few, adding the spice and drama of a theatrical presentation to make it easy on the eye. The result is the best of all worlds and an evening to remember and boast about to your friends: 'Ah, you should have been there...'

LADS' late spring production brings together a cast directed by Phil Franklin to perform Shakespeare's wonderful Twelfth Night, from 19th to 22nd May at 8pm. The famous gender-bending comedy tells the story of Viola, a young woman who loses her brother at sea, and explores how true the saying is that 'The path of true love never did run smooth'. For this production, LADS have had the inestimable privilege of being coached by the renowned Shakespearean and multi-award-winning actress Jane Lapotaire.

On Saturday 29th May at 8pm, The Creole Belles will come to Ledbury. This is the world's only New Orleans style Jazz Band comprised entirely of Ladies! They come directly from the Purcell Room on London's South Bank and that hot-bed of Jazz, Upton-upon-Severn. You can't get better credentials than that!

Tickets will be on sale from 4 weeks before each performance at Ledbury Books and Maps at the Top Cross in Ledbury's High Street. Telephoned bookings may be made to 01531-633760.
