Hi Beverly,
Thank you for all the hard work you do in keeping the history of Rawdon alive. I haven't been to Rawdon since my grandmother passed away a year and a half ago (Aggie Campbell) but it's always going to be a place that I love - I spent many weekends and summers and holidays at her house and miss Rawdon very much. It makes me sad to see so much of the area being so drastically changed.
If I come across any old photos I will let you know!

Hi Bev, As far as I can tell from the records down here, the Rawdon is in Quebec. I have a copy of a Burial Transfer Permit showing that my g'father signed to have Fanny Scales sent to Rawdon, P.Q. for interment. She died Apr. 14, 1887 at the age of 35 in Champlain, NY. I think she may have been born in Rawdon Thanks for your reply. Dave Scales

I am doing a little research on the Wright family of Rawdon Township, Quebec as well as a Richard Wright and Rachel McHenry family of L'Assomption County and a Thomas Hetherington and Letitia Clark family of L'Assomption County. Interested in hearing from anyone descended from these families or with info on them. Also would anyone know if the gravestones at Grace Anglican cemetery in Mascouche have been transcribed and available for purchase or perusal?

on peut me joindre syelle@ca.inter.net
Merci beaucoup

Hello Rawdon! I left in 1979 and finally got back for a visit and good look around in May of this year. I was so pleased to find that despite the growth and changes - Rawdon still had that special appeal for me that I always loved. Hope to retire back there some day, it has always been a very special place to me and I have missed it always.
I am living in Australia now. Would love to hear from any old friends that may still be around, will be back for another longer visit in 2010 bruce.erskine@bigpond.com.au

I have ancestors from Rawdon. Aristide Chevaudier dit Lepine born May 25 1849 and baptised at Parish Marie Reine du Monde. His parents were Apollinaire Chevaudier dit Lepine and Eleonore Beausoleil. The last name may listed as just Lepine. Aristide married Zoe Loiselle in 1877 and moved to Michigan about 1874. Your website is GREAT! I can't travel to Rawdon, so it is nice to finally know some things about the history. If anyone has any information on these people, it would kindly be appreciated!!!!

I am looking for my Great-grandmother, Mary MOORE born 1841 Quebec. Her father was Hubert MOORE born 1811 in Ireland. There was a Thomas Hubert MOORE born in Rawdon in 1847 to a Hubert MOORE & Jane (CUNNINGHAM) ? Can anyone help ? Mary MOORE married (circa 1865) William HARPER from England. They then lived in Montreal & are buried in Mont Royale Cemetery. Hubert MOORE was with them in Montreal on the 1891 census, a widower. Much appreciation. Thanks

Hi all, I'm researching the names Burgess, Green and Chalmers in the Rawdon area. My great grandmother was Alice Louise Adeline Burgess born about 1868 and daughter of (as far as I know) Thomas Burgess and Ellen Chalmers. Thomas was the son of Edward Burgess and Bridget Green who were early residents of Rawdon. Thomas and Ellen seem to have died before 1880. I visited Rawdon a few times when I was young and have nothing but fond memories of the place. Email me at KenWHam@yahoo.com if you wish to contact me. Ken
