I don't know: when I was a kid we used 'bampot' as a less sweary synonym for 'bastard', more or less. Or at least, that's the way I've always thought of it. I've started using it again recently -- I'm hoping to get my kids to start using it around Hackney -- and I feel it's too good a word for the sorts of scumsuckers you describe, Charlie.

Then again, your definitiion is so specific, and evocative, that it deserves some recognition at least.

Either way, it's good to see it back (though I suppose if I'd stayed in the West of Scotland it would never have gone away).
