I saw him at the Round-Up last year, and your description of him is 100% on the mark. I wish him (an all boot makers) years of good health. We need them.

I have never been very outspoken about any of the competition's boots here or on the internet and I won't be now. Personally though I have my opinions about some of the boots out there. For these boots though, I don't see what the ruckus is. If I were making a boot to celebrate a lot of years I would make up some fancy inlay and it would really not be made for wearing either. Of course I doubt I could get the $ 15000.00 for it either! If I could I would be working on them right now...Wow~! Just wait a few years though and you can pick up a pair of these on Ebay for a bargain. Personally though I don't like the toe or heel and I would want mine with something more like a cowboy boot!...TR

Mention was made of a hand tooled leather boot box. I hope the box is more impressive than the boots...

I can't wait to buy a pair for $12,500 so some guy next to me in 1883's will say, 'I wear Lucchese's too'.

Lucchese did a much better job with their 100th year aniversary boots. They were hornback lizard and a Lucchese logo. Simple, not gawdy and priced so many more people could purchase one. I think they made a 1000 of those.

Of coarse, Lucchese was different 25 years ago.

Somebody in El Paso has lost sight of the mission . . . . Lucchese makes some nice off the shelf boots, and I am certain these boots will be well made, but you couldn't pay me $12,500 to wear a pair of those boots. And sure, you could point out that those boots weren't made for me, but you know what, that is exactly the problem with these boots, they weren't made for me --or anybody else who wears cowboy boots, and frankly, they look silly.

While it is a good idea to do an anniversary, limited edition boot, these boots are not likely to boost company name recognition, or further sales if that matters . . . .

Lucchese should design a boot that their customers might actually want to wear.

Paul Bond and his crew recently came up with four limited edition anniversary designs to commemorate Mr. Bond's many years in the boot business. The designs are beautiful, pleasing to look at, and more affordable; and Mr. Bond had the good taste not to plaster his name in script across them.

We are extremely proud to bring you our Limited Edition 125th Anniversary Boot. The boot will be made with only the finest American Belly Alligator available. It will be made in our matador construction with covered sideseams and a fully hand-tooled and hand-painted quarters. Hand-tooled scrolls, Lucchese logos and stars will adorn the tops of each boot. The scallops will be hand-laced, the torero pullstraps will be overlaid in Alligator and only our premier Grimini linings will be used on the inside of each pair.

Only 125 pairs will be made. Each boot will hand signed and numbered. To ensure the authenticity of this piece of history, an embossed raised seal will be on each numbered certificate. Each boot will also come in a matching numbered 125th Anniversary Edition hand-tooled leather boot box.
