Keep a barf bag handy

A scathing review for Narnia? Gosh, I really didn't see that coming. I wonder if the Christian papers are saying the same things... My big question all along has been: during the crucifixion, how are they going to get the loin cloth to stay on the lion? That alone must be worth the price of admission.

Feel like a success story?

Selling the movie rights before the novel... Sweet. Unless you can't stand people who get this kind of luck. Then I would change the headline of this item to "Feel like a failure story?" and it would be about you. (Thanks, B!)

Hollywood loves books!

And in a similar way, tapeworms love you, too.

If I had the chance to rewrite this bit, I'd do it as follows:

"Angelina Jolie in Beowulf. Perfect. Except that she has all her teeth (see below). And probably more than a few belonging to other folk. On a chain around her neck. And embedded in her flank. And scattering the floor of her living room."

Why? Just cause.

On the screen

On the Road is coming to the big screen. Apparently, they're just going to feed the manuscript into a projector and see what they get.

Da Vinci Code: The Milkening

The Da Vinci Code movie has started filming in Paris. Apparently it stars the Olsen twins as albino rastafarian assassins and Liza Minnelli as the swingingest Mary of Magdalene of this century. Cameos will include Martin Short, the chubby guy from 21 Jump Street, and the corpse of Billy Barty. As expected, the movie will only be released in hardcover.

Pippi Longstocking gets a tutu

The Swedes just made my day. Pippi will dance, I tell you, and on pointe shoes.
