Todd Deatherage is a refreshing new voice that brings a blend of twang, jazz, blues, and down home country. He needs to give up on NYC where he gets gigs in the Village, but is not truly appeciated. This young man belongs on Music City - look out Nashville.

Yes, I may be a little biased: My cousin Todd has got a little bit of that Texas singer/songwriter, showmanship thing going on. And he won't stop till it gets heard. And more people are bound to be putting there ears on, what with the Whiskeytown producer tweaking the knobs (can anbdody say, "Ryan Adams?". The wife and I saw Todd at a little club in DC, and he blew us away. I am somewhat of a musicologist, (if there is such a thing) having seen many shows and artists in my time. Todd is the real deal. I know artists hate comparisons to other artists, and I'm sure he's heard 'em all. But, having seen it all...I gotta put my two cents in: He's got the yodel and the swoon of a Chris Isaak, the down home swagger of a Robert Earl Keen, the fresh face and chops of a Johnny Lang, a little sly fox in the henhouse wry smile of a Lyle Lovett, the tenderness of a Jimmy Dale Gilmore and a sound all his own. And a kickin band to boot. Todd, keep playing, keep writing, keep falling in love...just keep doing what you do to keep those great songs coming (especially like "She's Leaving Me", which I especially like to crank up in the car now and then). Cheers.

Hey all. Any thoughts on the Pianos show (for those of you who were lucky enough to be there, and hardcore enough to brave the rain)? Thanks to all who were there, I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.

The new EP is well on it's way to being delivered. Check back often for more news.

I know details about Todd's forth-coming recording have been few and far between. Here's a small sampling of other artists that our production team (separately) has worked with: Coldplay, Bob Dylan, Whiskeytown, The Breeders, My Morning Jacket, Paul McCartney, The Stills, The Beastie Boys, ...Trail of Dead, and many more.

Check back soon for more details.
