hi can any one help please
my dreambox 5620 dosn't start after flashing a new image gemini2.9 oly displaying "boot560........boot 5620.....
i tried to flash it with using dreamup 5620,but the dreambox dosn't respond.
im using the same cable that i had already used before.but the dreambox dosn't seem to respond.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to find your password if you forget it? The box is DM500S and I dont really want to reset it! If anyone knows the way I would really appreciate it.!

hi every one, please please could you help me, i was told the dreambox would help me, as i used to live in the uk, but now live in serbia and montenegro, and i miss my own type of tv, bbc prime etc and english, the locial tv here is trash,mmm but i can not find an image file that works. please help me i have a 5620 and astra and hotbird

How come that the old Australian modified 1.01 image could connect from my 5620 to the PC through the serial port? Was it set to request a connection regardless of the presence of the ethernet controller in the box? Anyway, if I don't bother you with my stupid questions and you don't want to teach me basic things through this forum, my email is ribpal@net.sote.hu

Here's the deal: PPP desn't start on the 5620 because Hydra thinks you have a network adapter. Now, the thing is that YOU don't initiate a PPP connection. You PC is the "server" and the DB is the "client". It's the client which initiates the connection.
Totally get Gemini 2.1 from Toecutters Den. Gemini is probably the best supported build anyway!

Just an idea! Let's assume I have a DM5620 image supporting ppp (Hydra Zeus for instance). Pppd doesn't start on DM5620 while booting, only on 5600. Can I force my DM5620 to start pppd if I send the string pppd during boot? If I can, how to send this string (with Hyperterminal in WinXP, minicom in Linux)? When I sent a "break" signal (there is a command in minicom I don't remember, CTRL+something) the box stopped in boot.
