Nanoparticles as fuel emission combatants sounds like a novel approach. It does seem like a good short term solution but like all bandages it must be removed at some time. The best use of nanotechnology to battle emissions is the use of nanotubes and other nanotech in improving fuel cells and batteries for electric vehicles. The only problem with this is that depending on who you believe, hydrogen use will increase the hole in the ozone layer. Yeah, right.

What can nanotechnology do in the battle against emissions? Are nanoparticle fuel additives just a temporary patch while we figure out how to get rid of the internal combustion engine?
