This is not new to philosophers, only to physicists and shows how specialisation leads to misunderstanding. It is well known that "time does not exist in and of itself". I believe it is one of the reasons for the strange results that come from relativity, in other words, the assumption that time is a constant is just wrong in the first place, from the start.
